Prominent location in the centre of Dhaka but inside the main line in serenity which allows almost walking around for shopping and good experience in staying as well as food. Supportive staffs to accommodate each request!

We had a nice experience together with colleagues...

On my 3 week work trip to Dhaka in March 2013 I was accomodated at the hotel Swiss Garden.
It turned out to be a hidden gem as regards price-quality (having worked extensively in developing countries). A small, pleasant hotel, with a small indoor swinning pool as a surprise (not common in Dhaka!). Good spacious, clean room with well working internet and flat screen Tv with international channels. Friendly staff. Quiet hotel on a quiet street but very close to Banani main street (rd 11) and thus close to many good restaurants. The hotel restaurant food was a bit hit and miss and the breakfast buffet was average but as a summary I very much recommend this hotel for a budget conscious traveller

I stayed a few times already at this hotel mainly because it is a fairly new residence. But mosquito has always been a problem there. Last time, they did not gave us the spray and the electric mosquito (liquid type) until we complained. This should be done before guests checked in. Also I had water problem on one of the nights, the water pressure was very low, the water in the shower was only warm and running at low volume and finally there was no water at all, so I did not properly finish my shower.

Getting a taxi is problematic. When we asked for Taxi, those cars hotel called for us tend to over charge. A trip maximum costs 400-500 taka, the private taxi drivers asked for 1000 taka.

Generally speaking, this hotel is clean and quiet. Rooms have LCD flat screen TV. On my first stay in 2011, the hotel had electricity cut off every half an hour, but now the electricity is not a problem. Free airport pick up is a plus.

Last but not the least, the rate is at higher end, and on top of the hotel rate, it is plus plus guests have to pay, so it easily adds up to a rate level like a standard 4 star hotels any where in the world would charge.

Will I stay again? Maybe, but I will keep searching for a better option in Dhaka city for my next trip.

It's no a big property, small nice hotel in reasonable / budget category near busy market Banani area. small swimming pool, small dinning area, gym etc. Free wifi but sometimes slow. Free pickup and drop available breakfast / food menu not much choice but manageable quality. The hotel area surrounded by market place so ample options available for dinning. good co-operative staff, Good business trip hotel with in reasonable budget.

This is the second time I have stayed in Dhaka. The first time was a different hotel, however this was booked through the client, so I didn't have much choice. However, it's a nice, clean hotel and at a very respectable price too. I stayed for 2.5 weeks, so became very familiar with the staff and intimate with the room service menu, which is great!

So the staff are courteous and very attentive. And the door staff are more then happy to assist you should you need anything. The room was clean and spacious (complimentary water too which is a bonus) with a fridge of a decent size. The aircon worked fine as did the overhead fan and the only downside was that I got bitten to death by mosquitoes even though I had spray with me and the room was also sprayed. I checked all of the windows for gaps so I can only assume they got in through the vents... Ended up with me sleeping the wrong way round in the bed under the overhead fan. Which worked. There is a lot of construction going on nearby, so it can get quite noisy during the day and they start pretty early as well!

The food from room service was very good indeed. I pretty much had the entire menu over my 18 day stay. Breakfast was so-so. Not much choice to be honest, but enough to fill you up and eggs to order as well. I didn't use any of the facilities of the hotel (pool or gym) and although the WiFi is free, it it really slow in the evening when all of the guests are in the hotel.

Check out was a little lengthy but the final bill was accurate. The hotel also have a complimentary service that will collect you from the airport and also take you back. This is included in the price, so that's really good. Even though it took 10 minutes to find the driver when I was leaving for the airport as he was having a rest. :)

I would definitely stay here again as you are not far from one of the main streets where there are loads of restaurants to choose from and also the stores that you need for convenience.

Nice little hotel, friendly staff, clean, quiet and is close to the airport.
I stayed twice at this hotel and both times the different rooms were basic but clean. Be warned the beds are very hard, a common factor I found in quite a few of the hotels in Bangladesh. They may have softer ones so it might pay to ask if you prefer soft.
Rooms had air conditioners and fans, TV etc.
They have a little restaurant in which I ate several times. Food was delicious and staff were more than happy to cook at anytime.
Room service was good, breakfast was brought up to the room and it was lovely to be able to eat on the balcony. Balcony looks over the street and nearby buildings, not much to look at but still nice to sit out on in the morning. Mosquitoes prevent any usage at night, certainly in February when I was there.
The hotel is situated a few streets back off any main road so it was peacefully quiet after being in the noise and chaos of the city. It is quite a way from the main city area but we had no difficulty in travelling about apart from the traffic jams. The closeness of the airport is probably the biggest asset.
We walked about at night to eat at several nearby restaurants and always felt safe in the area.
The hotel arranged for a car to pick me up from the airport and take me back which was a great help.

I stayed at the Swiss Garden Hotel twice for about four or five days at the beginning and end of a business trip to Bangladesh. I don't have much experience with hotels in Dhaka but many people warned me that they tend to be expensive and not particularly good. Within this context, the Swiss Garden is a bargain. The price is reasonable, staff are friendly and welcoming and the restaurant is quite good, especially for Indian food. Most importantly, I ate there several times without any ill effects, which could not be said for some of the other places i ate in Dhaka. The location is handy and there are shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. On the negative side, the hotel rooms and especially the bathrooms are badly in need of modernization and upgrading. There is construction going on next door so I found it rather noisy when i tried to sleep during the day after my early morning international arrival. However, this seems to be a problem all over Dhaka.

I stayed there on my 2nd visit to Dhaka. A very nice & cosy boutique hotel in the Banani residential enclave. Rooms are small in size but spotless. They really know the meaning of Cleanliness is Godliness. We booked a suite as we were on a business tour there. It had separate meeting room & bedroom, which we liked the most. The food street (Road No. 11) of Banani is just round the corner & you will get all the varieties of world cuisines on that single street.

You can choose any room you want as its a bit in the interior, away from the hustle & bustle of the main street. As a result, it's very quite all the time. Lobby & rooms are luxuriously furnished & so is the restaurant & swimming pool area (Yes!! It has an indoor swimming pool). The only issue is the price. I agree that the quality is top notch but still you feel being ripped apart by the pricing. It ranges in the territory of a 4-Star hotel which is quite a good asking amount for such a small boutique property. The room service is also a tad dull but manageable.

Overall a very good place to stay but there are better options available in Dhaka at the same price.
