Hotel Pacific is a good choice for budget-conscious travelers looking for a safe and clean enough room. I stayed in the cheapest room (full size bed, with a fan and connected bathroom). The room was adequate for one person. Water was hot in the mornings. It's very centrally located and next to major roads, which makes it a bit noisy, but every hotel in central Dhaka in this price range is similar in this way. Raad the hotel director, and his staff were very attentive and proactive in making sure that I had a comfortable stay, even helping me research unique things to do around Dhaka require local knowledge to identify. Thanks!

I didn't enjoy my stay here! The staff were really rude and not very accommodating. The room was filthy, the mattress had holes and the overall environment wasn't really good. They also overcharged me by $12.The wifi was good and fast, but that's about the only positive.I won't be staying here again and I'd advise others to avoid!

Though it has all modern hotel facilities but it needs renovation.the room in which we stayed is not clean enough, the door lock doesn't work. Staffs are unprofessional. And also didn't like their environment.

Well know and among oldest hotels in Dhaka. Located at motijheel the business district of Bangladesh..the area is surrounded by financial banks head quaters on one side and the famous Bangabandhu cricket stadium on the other end . But the hotel has lost its charm due to low maintenance . However the staff are courteous, well behaved and Friendly. The front desk is little slow in handling customers. But at 3000 taka in dhaka the hotel is the best bet.

The Pacific has the advantage of being listed in a 5-year old Lonely Planet as the backpacker pick. To be frank it is dirty and overpriced. Current cost of non-AC room is nearly $20, which is way too much. Bathroom fittings largely broken, rooms have consistently not been cleaned properly, sheets clean (but old stains). Seems they have plenty of staff on hand, but they could spend some more time cleaning the place instead of trying to fleece tips from the customers. I am an experienced low budget traveller in South Asia, and have no issue with "basic", but basic places need to be clean. Advantage is location and good wifi (in lobby). There are other hotels in the area and I expect that as soon as the new LP is out, the Pacific will lose its gravy train of clientele.

Arriving at the Pacific late at night was almost a nightmare. There was more garbage in the hallways than in bins... People smoking on the corridors, water bottles and paper thrown around, dust, you name it. The room seemed like it hasnt veen cleaned in the last decade... maybe more. Hot water was a joke: you have to be THE only lucky one taking a shower at that moment. Why then five it a two stars? Because that was the first night in Bangladesh... After the first day, the Pacific seems quite clean compared to downtown. And location is good.

We stayed here after 2 nights at Al Razzak down the road (which is lovely, and almost half the price but room's were booked). Pacific was much much worse. Not cheap by South Asian standards (double what we consider budget in india & rest of Bangladesh) and the rooms are horrible. Dirty sheets, cockroaches galore, no windows, shower not properly functional. Restaurant was passable. Staff were very rude. On our last day the receptionist was asked to book a taxi for us to the airport. He left, came back and said it would be 5 minutes. After 30, he had made no effort to find it other than secretly calling his friend with a private car who hounded us to go with him instead, for 8x the price...! After nearly an hour, I went out into the monsoon rains and found one myself in 5 minutes. I am not easily offended and yes I am used to cheap and shabby places (been working and travelling in india for 14 months). Genuinely don't stay here. Go to Al Razzak. It is much much better.

This was the most affordable hotel we could find in the city center. The owner was friendly. Once I requested additional cleaning, the room was more comfortable and tolerable. The Internet was good, but only available in the lobby and the kitchen. The food was good! We had cable TV in our room. The shower had strong pressure with hot and cold water. Overall I would stay again.
