This is a lovely boutique hotel in Phnom Penh. Unfortunately, the reservation I made and confirmed by email one year in advance (and re-confirmed 7 days before arrival) got lost and they did not have a room for me when I arrived at 8pm. Their efforts to locate another suitable room were minimal and I was left to my own...

Have to chime in here and join the chorus. Terrific location, beautifully decorated, very comfortable and all around just a wonderful place to stay in Phnom Penh. We had a private pool room and I was expecting a small plunge pool. What a surprise when I found the pool was much larger than the pictures here indicate, and quite deep,...

Perfect location in Phnom Penh and one you walk into the front gate the peace and tranquility of the pool and garden block out all of the street noise. First of 5 hotels on 2 week trip through Cambodia and Laos. Overall: Beautiful lush grounds ARE the promised urban oasis in a noisy, hectic and dusty but nevertheless interesting city. Around the corner from 242 Street with it's boutiques and good restaurants and walking, or short tuk-tuk to central attractions. Stayed in a pool room 14.....there are 4 (11,...

This was our first experience in Cambodia. We stepped off of the busy, dirty streets of Phnom Penh and we felt as if we entered another world. This hotel is a lovely little place surrounded by gardens. The pool is beautiful and it is next to the spa, restaurant, and the bar. The staff were gentile and very helpful. The...

Wow, I loved this place. Very serene and peaceful, with a beautiful pool (two of them actually, but I spent my time around the main pool). The pool has private boxes you can lounge in, and the staff will bring food and drink right to those boxes... which have steps leading directly into the pool. Paradise. The breakfast buffet was...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
It all started when we fell in love with a hidden gem of French-Khmer architecture from the 1920s near Wat Botum, one of the most venerable and original pagodas in Phnom Penh. Renovation and remodeling were led with due respect for the character of a building which had been, as we learnt it later on, a private retreat for Queen Consort Sisowath Kossamak, the late King Sihanouk's mother. Opened on August, 18, 2006 with 10 rooms, The Pavilion has slowly expanded over the years, offering now 36 accommodations throughout three more period buildings that have been added to the property: "The New House", former residence of the chief veterinarian at the Royal Palace; "The New Villa", formerly the private residence of a Cambodian senator, and "The Sun-Pool Villa", our latest addition which used to be lodgings for diplomats based in Phnom Penh. Each one has its own style and atmosphere, with distinctive architectural features such as an elaborate wooden stairway, intricate iron wrought railings, etc… ... more   less
