This was my first experience of a hotel in Laos and it was a pleasant surprise. The rooms were big and comfortable and the breakfast excellent. Its a little further away from the action but worth walking a couple of blocks. Rates were very reasonable. We moved closer to join our tour group and stayed in a more expensive hotel...

We booked a vip room. The room was nice but not VIP class. We could feal the springs in the madras. The breakfast was acceptable. The receptionist manager seemed as if he was angry all the time. During our 3 days stay he never smiled. The location is fine. Walking distance to alomst everything.

The surroundings are not very nice. Anyway, they are safe. Is a little out of the river, but you can easily walk to many attractions. The Suite room requires climbing one flight of stairs. It's just the way it looks in the picture. Spacious and comfortable. The breakfast is poor, but according to the rate.

We booked the executive suite for 71$. When we got there the staff who spoke almost no english tried to explain there was a missunderstanig with booking.com and that they only have the standard room.. To uderstand that alone took us 15 min. So the standard room was ok i guess.. basic and clean for 31$. Hot water took ages...

It is a decent hotel, clean towels, and clean bed. Free wifi. Air-conditioned. Complimentary breakfast (toast, eggs, fruits, coffee & tea -- the same menu for my 4 days there) The room is equipped with a small fridge, a clothes closet, night stands, TV. Several disadvantages: (1) I would prefer a study table rather than just a small coffee table...

I paid US$18 for a single room and was given the Sakura room on the 3rd floor. Great value for money. Hotel was small and had a cozy and lovely vibe to it with nice mid-century style furniture and decor in its reception area which I really like. Room was clean and comfortable with simple beautiful decor and great bathroom....

This small hotel is situated off the heavily traveled main road and is a little ways behind a black canyon franchise coffee shop and a Lao bank. The location is excellent if you want to be within walkable distance of the mekong and many great eats including the Yulala cafe and Swedish Bakery. The room was simple but had a...

First impressions: The bright and cool lobby is a welcomed treat after coming in from the hot and dusty outdoors. Averaging between 18 - 50 British pounds per night, it's at par among its peers for its 3-star rating. Grade B+ to A-minus. Pros: Excellent location is a big plus. The hotel is a mere 5-10 minute leisurely walk to...

The Avalon is a beautiful hotel in a great location only 10 min. from the fountain & 15 min. from the Mekong. Beds are comfy & the bathrooms are amazing. Very good included breakfast. Unfortunately, the reception staff are dis-interested & unhelpful. But I still had a good night's sleep & a comfortable stay.

I found the staff not helpful at all. The room was clean and small. The air con worked great. Cable and wifi were good. Showers were cold. Location was o.k. You had to cross 2 busy streets to get to main area. Vientiane has not been my favorite part of this trip. If had a re-do, I would skip vientiene...
