My visit to sengtawan is probably my first and last. The staff don't know enough english to fill a sentence and the restaurant prices are high. We came home from lunch one day to find that our room had been used by someone ( we still to this day don't know who). Someone had used our room as a public...

Rooms are spacious, shower room design is rather terrible - left with wet floors and wet everything. The breakfast (which is supposed to be worth 50,000 kip) is not amazing but the view sure is the best in Vientiane! Legit airport transfer service too!

I went to the hotel on the recommendation of a friend not to stay but for the lao massage. I had been suffering with a bad back and shoulder for a month and had tried many thai and lao traditional massage but only got partial relief which would be gone in a day. Here the service was excellant and when...

Situated on the "new" street along the Mekong river, west of the town center. Rooms are (very) big and reasonably clean. Breakfast buffet is on the top floor: sit on the the terrace and enjoy the view over the river. Our group of 9 was splitting up in Vientiane: some left 1 day earlier by air, others left the same...

Many reviewers complain about the staff but I found them very helpful especially as I accidentally left my ATM card in the machine at the airport and they frantically made phone calls and ran me to the airport and back with fuss or charged. The room was comfortable but noise from the bar band next door is extremely loud until...

Stayed here for two nights. Pros: It's got a great view of the river and the night market across the street room if you had a suite with a balcony and riverside view, so there's that. Cons: The hallways were darkly lit in the daytime and the non-balcony/riverside rooms were...weirdly designed. I don't really know how to explain it, but...

Arrived very around 2:30 am due to delayed flight. Disturbed the front desk guy from his sleep and got placed in Rm 213 which is in the back of the hotel with no internet. The room was okay but no internet was a problem. The good I moved to room 202 which was large and clean The housekeeping was wonderful...

Don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed. The hotel is old. Rooms are locked using keys. No electronic security here. The rooms are fairly large. Old wooden furniture fills the room. The bed is large and comfortable. Slightly on the hard side. Bathroom is well appointed with the usual toiletries and plenty of water for a hot shower....

Back in Vientiane again after 8 years and so much have changed and yet so much the same old dusty komunist town. The Sengtawan is located just 10 minutes from the airport and 5 minutes from the night market right on the Mekong, the mother of all rivers as her name is in Lao. "Ma Kong". Just cross the street...

Great location and has the basics. The beds were hard and the hotel is quite dark. Front desk was friendly. If you want value for money in a great location this is where to stay. The breakfast was basic and take your own coffee to the room because there is a kettle with no coffee or tea. Also take your...
