Staying at the Dhavara " boutique hotel" was one of the most disappointing experiences we had while visiting Vientiane, as this hotel is a total trap. Upon arrival we were given only one plastic card key, which made it impossible to charge any of our gadgets when leaving the room. Later we demanded a 2nd key that was charged to...

This hotel has a fantastic location in the middle of town, hence easy to walk around to Mekong river, night market, Presidential Palace, Vat Sisaket, La Signature at Ansara, Monument Books, Café Sinouk and Carol Cassidy Lao Textiles. A ride from hotel to Cope or Patuxai costs 50000 kip for three of us. Free transport to and from airport is...

Stayed for two nights at this luxurious hotel located within walking distance to night market and river front. Very close to other attractions. It is on a street front but then so are most other hotels in Vientiane. Inside is tranquil, calming and welcoming. Excellent attention to detail. The white facade is lovely and the interior equally tasteful. The bedroom...

It started wrong: the free transfer from the airport was 20 min.too late, without any explanation. At check-in, we were given a wrong room; We booked a Premier King with balcony and were sent to an occupied (!) room at the backside.. It seemed there was a mistake with the room-number..Finally we got a nice spacious Premier King with balcony,...

We stayed in the Dhavara hotel for 2 nights in October, before the start of our Mekong river cruise. This small hotel is located in the older part of Vientiane, and is not typical of western chain hotel. But the rooms are spacious with teak wood floor and colonial style furniture. Our room is at the 6th floor with a...

The Dhavara is well located in Vientiane for all attractions with plenty of good quality & cheap restaurants in easy walking distance. TukTuks readily available for longer trips. We stayed in Mekong Suite which was large & spacious with long balcony overlooking river, large bathroom with separate tub & shower and individual air con in each room. All the necessary...

Well located for easy access to the city's attractions the Dhavara is a stylish hotel possibly frequented more by business travellers than holiday makers. A swimming pool would be a great addition. Public rooms are elegant and our fifth floor balcony room was large, equipped with quality furnishings and linen, big comfortable bed, polished wooden floor, contemporary good sized bathroom. Breakfast...

The hotel is located about 15 min drive from the airport. We were picked up by minivan from the airport. Rooms are very good, size of the rooms and bathrooms are also quite large. Wifi works well, the welcome drink and the macaroon and fruit surprise every evening was simply amazing. Also the attention to detail, we got 4 different...

Only stayed one night but boy was it worth it. First class check in, unbelievable breakfast buffet and a fantastic huge room, this place has it all. Then the complimentary shuttle back to the airport capped off our 5 star stay. Thanks Dhavara!
