Whatever you do, please don’t waste your time or money going to the Dragon Lodge. It is hands down the worst place I have ever stayed at. For starters $270 AUD went missing from my bag in my room while I was out at dinner. The hotel staff knew we were leaving at 4am the next morning as they had...

we asked the manager to recommend some dining places and we said we could ride our bicycle around. Instead, he took us there by his private van without saying anything. He didnt ask for money on the same night but the next day! Absurd and absolutely a rip off!

Also unsure as to why the previous reviews have been so poor - perhaps different expectations! We found the Dragon Lodge to be well placed for walking to the main eating areas of Vientiane and tuk-tuks stop right outside for trips further afield. The staff were friendly and welcoming and always acknowledged us wandering in and out. They were also...

We stayed at Dragon Lodge for 6 nights in July this year and it was a brilliant place to stay. Right in the centre of Vientiane, a good price (although we did get an out of season discount), good size clean rooms with ensuite and fan or air con options, and most mentionably the staff are absolutely amazing. They couldnt...

I showed up at the Dragon Lodge exhausted after walking around unsuccessfully looking for a place to stay for my first night in Vientiane. Thankfully they had one room available and I jumped on it. The front desk staff was very accommodating, and the place seemed relaxed. The location is great: a couple of blocks from the river-front, and there're...

We stayed at the Dragon Lodge for 2 nights, and alothough it had alot of potential it was a boring place to stay and the staff were useless! There was a menu on the wall in the bar/restaurant offering full cooked breakfast which is one of the reasons we took it. It wasn't til the morning when we went down...

The staff (poor English - sullen -unhelpful) and rooms (dark - small) are simply not good enough. There are much better places at better prices in Vientiane. I am shocked at the positive reviews

Dragon Lodge is good value for money, and the owner is serivce minded. I always stay here on my visits to Vientiane. But his hotel boys could do with a bit more smiling and attentiveness. It used to be better.

Such good value and Peter the manager is so helpful. The location is perfect. a try. A guest house, not a hotel but has a small hotel feel.

I have stayed in Dragon Lodge many times since it opened. I have always found that the service is attentive, but non intrusive, the place is always spotlessly clean and the atmosphere friendly and safe. The owner is a mine of information and will always try to help you get to your detsination in the way you want to and...
