It was wonderful to meet Sam and his family. We had a lovely lunch, with a chance to help out the kitchen, which was great fun. Sam had arranged for our group to visit the local village where we spent time at the school. it was an amazing experience, I love the work that is happening to support the environment...

Apart from the floating restaurant (which wasn't too bad), this place was not what was advertised. It is under new management and is being revived from a very run down state. Our accommodation was musty and smelled of rodents, and you could hear the rats in the ceiling at night. The paths at the resort were slippery and made movement...

Dear Bryan B., We are sorry that you were unsatisfied with your time here at Rivertime. We do our best to ensure guest satisfaction. We recall that we only had one working bicycle to use and not a second one for your wife. Currently, there are three working bicycles and will be more in the future. We do have a...

We stayed here for three nights with our two kids - they didn't want to leave! They became friends with the manager's children and swam in the fenced off "pool" - really just a fenced off part of the river but fun nevertheless. The food at the floating restaurant is delicious and affordable. The bungalow needs some TLC but we...

We stayed at Rivertime for 3 nights with our young children and we all loved it. The rooms are quite basic but we had no problems and the owner arranged a few extra beds in the room for our children to accommodate all of us. The eco lodge is situated on a beautiful river and the scenery is really quite...

Not too far from Vientiane and worth visiting if you're a tourist, for a day trip or to stay overnight. Serene place by the Nam Ngum river where you can relax, kayak, and swim (though the current is very strong - but there is a small "swimming pool" cut out of the deck board that lets you stay in the...

Sam, Sit and all the rest of the staff at Rivertime made this a memorable stay for me. The food at the floating restaurant was incredible and there are quite a few activities you can do during the day; I took a boat and kayak up and down the river for a few hours, which was really relaxing and a...

Beautiful location on riverside in forested rural area of Laos, in genuine ecolodge. Cabins basic but comfortable, reasonable price. The floating restaurant was perfect spot to relax and watch the river go by. Good breakfast included; evening meals delicious with huge varied menu. Staff friendly and helpful, and cats entertaining. We loved staying at the Rivertime Resort! We stayed in a private bungalow looking over the river and the price was super reasonable. Barnaby took such good care of us and was incredibly helpful! Myself and a fellow volunteer stayed for one night at this resort and we really wish we could have stayed longer. We were welcomed by the manager Barnaby and shown to our guest houses which were spacious with very comfy beds. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We are a riverside ecolodge resort only 30 km outside of Vientiane which offers a true taste of rural Lao life but with most of the comforts of home. We have a floating restaurant on the river and offer a range of activities such as local village tours, tubing, cooking classes, massage, a sauna nearby, boat trips, fishing, free bicycles etc. We do our best to live in harmony with both the local people and the surrounding forest. We also donate $2 per guest night to local education and community projects. ... more   less
