Got booked into the hotel on behalf of my company. Was apprehensive as most of the properties of this brand in other cities are very very old. My experience: This property is built in Dec 2015 so it is fairly nice with modern rooms. I would call it a "basic motel" rather than a 4 star hotel. You get clean new room, hot and cold water, a clean bathroom, TV and minibar but not more than that. I saw around 3 or 4 foreign guests so I guess the hotel is doing okay. Wi Fi: Available but not working. Location: Follow google maps. Its accurate. Hotel is hidden from main road and at the end of a very long lane. If you need a taxi, call a cab service. Local taxis wont be available here and they dont know the location either. There are 2 Ambassador hotels in Islamabad, they would mostly know the other location. Check In: Smooth, quick and easy. Zeeshan at front desk is very helpful. Room First Impression: Fresh fruit basket was provided on arrival and bottle of mineral water. Bathroom Clean. 2 closets with good space for storing clothes. 3 wall sockets for your chargers. 1 dirty telephone set. 1 prayer carpet. Room had good lighting and private small balcony (just to stand). Bathroom: Clean. Included 2 large towels, 2 small towels, basket with soap, shower gel, shaving kit (basic), toothbrush and toothpaste. Shower good and functioning although dripping water. Thankfully, there was toilet paper - a huge plus!! Dirty Bed: But the bad part was the bed sheet was dirty with black spots like someone's shoe prints. I asked to get it changed and the man who came in was very careless. He brought a fresh sheet which was also bearing black marks/dirt on it and he tried to hide it by putting it under the blanket side! So I had to get it changed again. To their positive credit, housekeeping persons arrived at the room within 5 minutes of calling. TV: large selection of local channels plus HBO, one other English channel, and a few sports channels (local). They had BBC and CNN but reception for these channels was VERY bad. Room Amenities: Chair, table, fruit basket, fridge. Chair was almost broken with loose back. Room Service: Tried tea and sandwiches, reasonable rates. Tea came in a pot (that held 2 servings). Sandwiches seemed strange half were fresh, other half were clearly stale bread. Serving size was good. Order arrived within 10 minutes. Restaurant: Only 1 rooftop restaurant is functional. Their dinner buffet was one rice dish, one dall, and one chicken. To their credit, food was well made but that doesnt excuse lack of options! Restaurant staff was non responsive and non cooperative. I had to take my own box of tissue from another empty table, get up to bring my own water bottle, etc. Cutlery was half clean half unclean. Plates were also mixed some clean and some with black spots and marks. Only 1 waiter Kashif was cooperative and served things to me at the table. Breakfast buffer was nice with continental/Pakistani mix dishes (around 5 or 6 items), coffee, tea, and orange juice. Staff at this time was also good. Lunch buffet was also good with 4 dishes, 2 salads, and 1 sweet option. Daytime staff was much better, polite, and cooperative. Staff: Some good, some bad. Mostly you will find inexperienced people who may be very enthusiastic and good (Zeeshan at reception and waiter Kashif) or very slow and rude. However, when I called to the reception or room service for any thing, it arrived quick enough within maximum 10 minutes (extra sheet, bathroom amenities, room service order, etc.) Overall: Its a fair enough motel in the middle of Islamabad overlooking Supreme Court and Serena. Suitable for the price of 1 or 2 night stay but dont expect a full hotel standard.…
