I am a Marriott Bonvoy Silver Elite member and stayed at the Islamabad property in room 422 on the Executive floor for 5 nights. What was a reasonably comfortable stay got spoiled when believe it or not we discovered a lizard in the room. This was an absolute shocker and a first after a life long stay of 100s of nights at hotels worldwide. Pest control is a minimum that one expects will be in place when one stays on the Executive floor of a 5 star Marriott Bonvoy property. The Executive Lounge experience was borderline pathetic with limited choices of food and ambiance. Matter was communicated via email to hotel management who chose not to acknowledge.
The shortcomings: 1. The front desk wasted my 30mins but couldn't reset my room key. 2. Allocated us a room with one single king bed (but it seemed small) with a terrible window view instead of two single beds and at the same time were allocating better rooms to those who were checking in later and had booked same deluxe rooms. 3. Didn't even allow us one minute late checkout and warned us of hefty penalty. 4. The front desk ensured that the shuttle service driver will stop for 5 minutes at Rahat Bakery en route Airport but the driver created a scene and didn't stop at Rahat Bakery. 5. In short, a terrible experience throughout. Details: We had to attend a sponsored conference in Islamabad and our stay was at Marriott Islamabad. The stay was on sharing basis ( 2 persons per room) and they allocated us a room with only one bed (the bed was small and didn't look like King size). I had to request them a separate mattress and had to sleep on it on the floor ruining the whole experience. The front service desk was quite rude (no smiling face with unpleasing tone and negative use of language) and told me that they didn't have any deluxe rooms available with separate beds but were assigning those who checked later. They even upgraded someone in front of me to Executive Room citing the reason that they didn't have deluxe rooms available which they could have done for us since we checked in earlier and weren't happy with room assignment. My room key wasn't working so I went to front desk and asked them to reset it. They couldn't reset it citing system issue and asked me that they will reset it and send it to my room. Meanwhile, my friend entered the hotel so I went with him to the room. After 4 hours, when I asked them about the room key, they asked me to come down and get it reset instead of resetting it and sending it to my room. I went down and again they couldn't reset it. Instead of apologizing, he said that the issue is with my room and everything else is working fine. So, I had to change my tone and then everything started working fine with my room also. Don't know if he was doing it on purpose. My room key was reset and sent to my room. We had a flight back to Karachi at 4pm and had to go to airport via hotel shuttle service at 1pm. We requested them if we could check out at 1pm and they refused straightaway and warned us of hefty penalty. The front desk ensured that hotel shuttle driver will stop for 5 minutes at Rahat Bakery but when we were about to reach Rahat Bakery, the driver started creating a scene of delay and didn't stop. If they were so concerned about delay then they had to depart exactly at 1:00pm instead of 1:10pm since we all were waiting in the lobby for the shuttle since 12pm. My sponsor had booked around 100 rooms. Therefore, I would never recommend businesses to book large number of rooms because it will create discrimination and inequality among participants since they don't have the capacity to handle them equally and fairly.…
Islamabad Marriott continues to deliver amazing services and hospitality with high professionalism The staff from the time you get off are most welcoming . Special shout out to Umair at front desk , Anwar at bell desk and the the staff at Nadia coffee shop ! Rooms and other resources meet expectations
1 out of 5. Because Mr. Zaheed who is the responsible of night shift told that I cannot use the bar because I have a Muslim name. I’m from Turkiye and I have passport, I’m working for German Embassy in İslamabad. In Turkey alcohol is allowed. Nobody in Turkey knows or asks what the religion of the other is because Turkey is a secular country. Additionally they are selling alcohol to people who have passport but not allowed to use bar. More than 50 times in a year our friends were using this Hotel and some of my friend were telling me that they had some problems about the hotel staff but I couldn’t understand what was wrong. Know I understood that their manager is very rude and doesn’t want to solve problem. He is making problems. Next time I’m going to use another hotel may be serena hotel.…
On your first time visiting the security to enter can feel rather intimidating if you’re new to the city, but fear not because once inside this is a great hotel! They offer a free shuttle to / from the airport, which takes about 40 minutes in clean traffic. Unfortunately the first transfer to the airport in a morning isn’t until 7am, but the staff can easily sort a taxi if needed. Upon arrival I had one of the best check in experiences ever, with a chatty member of staff whose English was perfect. Despite being very early in the day he worked hard to get me a room as soon as possible which was really appreciated. All the door staff and concierge team were welcoming whenever you pass, and the lobby area was smart and impressive with plenty of seating. My room was on the second floor, at the end of the corridor overlooking the car park and front. While this hardly made for a great view everything else in the room made up for it. It was really spacious and had ample storage space. The bed was large and comfortable, decent arm chairs, coffee table and working desk were all present, as well as hot drink facilities, iron and board, good TV and an empty fridge. The air conditioning worked well either for heat or cool air and the Wi-Fi was both fast and stable. Electric sockets as well as usb charging points were present at both sides of the bed and lighting options throughout the room were perfect. The bathroom was equally as spacious with a huge walk in shower, although no bath. All the amenities you’d expect were present although I did note the small bottle of shower gel wasn’t refreshed during housekeeping. The shower had great power and heat and there were a good number of soft towels and gown provided. Sleep quality was wonderful and although occasional noise could be heard through the connecting door to the adjacent room it wasn’t bothersome, and certainly nothing could be heard from outside. A large bottle of water was provided each day and the housekeeping staff were extremely friendly, wanting to do anything they could to please. There’s a good number of restaurants, six if I recall correctly. I only tried two of them but both had great quality food, nice setting and brilliant staff. The mutton biryani was a particular favourite, and with the nearby pianist in the lobby it was a relaxing meal. The stand out feature of the hotel has to be the staff - literally everyone was perfect, friendly, helpful and genuinely wanting to assist. Even if the room hadn’t been so great I’d still consider it again as a result, and it’s highly recommended from me!…
The Checkin Officer don't know the clear instructions given at the the Reservation and got so panic with it. They should have prepared them self prior to the Guest Check In and totally unaware about the reservation is being made.
The most overrated hotel in Islamabad! I would rate this hotel at 3/5 but had to give it 1/5, mainly because we were placed in an unsafe room. The shower head fell off while my pregnant wife was taking a shower. I'm a titanium elite Marriott Bonvoy member. The hotel reached out, in what seemed like an auto-generated email, to welcome us because of our tier. I replied back to email and that rep from the hotel didn't bother replying back. I requested an early check-in. We were checked in by the front desk receptionist, named Umair or Omair. He didn't both acknowledging us (not even hi or hello). Umair didn't bother looking at my Marriott status. He informed me that I would be charged for half a day due to my early check-in. I had to stop him and let him know that I was a Marriott Titanium member. He seemed surprised that we were Titanium members and tried to be overly efficient, saying, "Oh yes, I have your membership number here." He called his front desk manager and was able to complete the check-in after 20 minutes. The worst nightmare started when the shower head fell off while my pregnant wife was taking a shower. It almost hit her! The staff didn't care at all or even advise switching rooms. They sent a person to fix it, which was fixed within an hour. …
Excellent service and courteous staff with a nice breakfast. Three different cuisine - Asian, Pakistan, and English. The staff was very courteous and considerate. We stayed at two different times. The second time we had a late flight and the staff was able to give us a later checkout than normal. Room was spacious and clean
Amazing and spacious room, with a very comfortable super-king sized bed and a large bathroom. Not the best view but wouldn’t say that’s the hotels fault. Only issue was the fan/A/C was very loud so had to turn it off, leading to being quite hot in the night. Really good and powerful shower. Lobby and restaurant area I was impressed with, lovely traditional food served even when we arrived at midnight. Felt secure inside the hotel and staff very friendly. Didn’t get to use gym/swimming facilities so can’t comment. Not sure on price as it was a business trip but would certainly stay again.
The location was nice, majority of the staff was cooperative and friendly. I would like to take some names, they made our stay phenomenal and so we take back home good memories. Umair Lateef at the reception was exceptionally hospitable, such energetic souls are a vital component of hotel business. We wish him good luck and we truly believe that management should acknowledge him for his efforts to make guests happy and satisfied. Secondly the staff on our executive floor (4TH FLOOR) in general. I MUST APPRECIATE, BE IT A ROOM SERVICE PERSON, ELECTRICIAN, GUARD, ANYONE, ALL HAD SMILES ON THEIR FACES AND THEY GREETED US EVERY TIME WE SEE THEM. To be specific I would like to take name of Mr. Hanif (Room service), the elderly guy was so good to us, truly appreciate his manners. Staff Razi and Shadab from room service department were great too. Every time we needed them they were there. There was one more I forgot the name. Manager Asad from food and beverage (MANAGER NADIA) was so warm to greet. He was exceptional too in making our visit worth remembering. The concierge manager (experienced one), cannot recall his name, he was too courteous too. Special thanks to Sardar Abdul Qayyum at the Pearl Tour. Again, he made us feel like home and made our travelling smooth. Management should acknowledge the efforts of above mentioned workers as they are the ones who would compel us to visit Marriott again All waiters at Nadia were great NEED FOR IMPROVEMENT The paint in the balcony room 446 was coming out, needs to be fixed The mattress should be complimentary if do not want breakfast Manager Hina at Nadia should be hospitable with the guests. She needs to learn how to cater guests especially those who have black card membership. Being a member of PC we need to be treated well…
