When we arrived Faith, the manager/owner, met us with a cold beer, Turkish Delights and provided us with an orientation of the hotel and the city, along with suggestions and options for tours etc. No pressure, just really good information. Our room was perfect, on main floor in the back building with easy access to...

I booked Best Point because of the reviews it had received here on TA. And my family wasn't disappointed. Before we arrived, coming in from Bodrum, we'd been in regular contact with Fatih, the owner. He helped arrange transport from the airport, which was there when we arrived, and they were very pleasant people, even putting on a DVD for...

Having worked over a decade in luxury hotels in USA, I have acquired a distinctive eye for hotels that are unrated-best kept secrets. Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
