This place was just what I was looking for- great location, quiet, simple, well priced. I arrived without a booking, and I liked the first room that I was shown so I took it. There was a huge bed, a view over a quaint street below, (I liked watching the things going on below- water pipes, backgammon, street stalls etc),... More

My husband and I stayed at Akdeniz in November 2014. It is perfectly located in Sultanahmet... a stones throw from the tram stop and walking distance from the Hagia Sofia, Blue mosque and Topkapi palace. Get on the tram line and you can get to all the other attractions as well. There's a great selection of restaurants too around this... More

All about the location. Alight at sultanahmet station, exit from the gate at airport direction, immediately take 1st right and you see the hotel. 30 meters from the station. Our room was small and basic but well maintained. All the attraction is less than 5 min walk from the hotel. Breakfast is served to the room. If you consider the... More

Stayed at this hotel in May, 2014 and found the staff to be ever so helpful. Room was a little small - but then so was the cost! Location excellent. Could use some appropriate-sized bed linens. Would have stayed longer had they had room availability.

Very difficult to find for taxi driver. We are 65 ish and thought the hotel would be better. Having said that the location was great! Receptionist doesn't speak English. Breakfast included but not great. Cakes, olives cheese. We went down to find the receptionist fast asleep in the small foyer. She offered to go get us take aways but we... More

Stayed for one day on October 2012 at the 3rd floor, move to another because there's no hot water in the shower- Wouldn't complain if its summer. The receptionist is friendly and helpful. Room is tidy, with clean towels but it was old and has rust stains on them. Very near to Sultanahmet's tram station. Very great location, mini market... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
