Big Apple is in the perfect location - 10 mins max to Blue Mosque & Haggia Sophia. The staff were welcoming, friendly and always willing to help. Our room was quite noisy on the first night due to the double aspect - but when we mentioned this at reception, they were only too happy to move us. The breakfast is...

Good location, friendly staff, very safe, clean and a decent breakfast. Great value for money - what more could you ask for! Being a solo traveller I was a little apprehensive about this trip - but this hostel was great and the locals in Istanbul were friendly - and understood when you said "no thanks"!

This hostel is clean, the food is fantastic and the staff will go out of their way to make you feel welcome and help you navigate your way around the city. I stayed in a female only dorm and met some great people. The hostel has free wifi, lockers, basically...

Nice, modern hostel close to the Blue Mosque Was quite a nice modern hostel. Just stayed there one night, they had scaffolding up on the outside of the building so assume maybe painting it? Bathroom and Room facilities were nice, modern, and clean. They have a rooftop bar but it was all closed up when I was there. The hostel...

Stayed here for a week. 5-10 minutes from the Blue Mosque, Ayasofia, and the Metro station. It was very convenient. There are convenience stores and a nice cafe right off the block, where I would grab a Turkish coffee every day before heading out. Several touristy restaurants nearby for convenient dining if you need. The breakfast in the Hostel is...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.

“Choose a room on the first or second floor. Hotel has no lift and many stairs to the other floors. The staircase is narrow so if you have lots of luggage stay on a lower floor. It's no fun trying to log bags up those stairs.”
