The Anadolu Hotel is small and humble but family-run. We arrived (party of 9) late into the night and they fired up the kitchen and cooked us a delicious meal. It is run more like a bed and breakfast than a hotel. No fancy TVs, no elevator. It is in a great little street. With a great view of Hagia...

This hotel is very centrally located. The rooms are adequate and clean, but could use a little scrubbing. The daily breakfast was delicious and served outside on the lovely terrace with geraniums blooming everywhere. The staff all spoke English and especially helpful were the two Ismails and Mahmoud at the front desk and Kostel in the restaurant. Not every taxi...

My first impressions was worrying but as I entered I was really content with customer service. The chap at reception ISMAEEL was really helpful allowed me to choose which room I wanted. I checked in and as promised ISMAEEL got me a map and showed me easiest way around istanbul. The room was simple but done the job and great...

Stayed in March. Clean room, nice staff, good breakfast. Really nice view from the balcony. Most important - very close to all main museums and attractions. It was difficult to find the hotel first time. Good value for the price.

It is located at a walking distance from the main touristical spots, such as Aya Sophia, the Blue Bosque or the Basilic Cistern. The cost of accommodation is very good, if we consider its proximity to thee historical centre. Staff is nice and very helpful. Breakfast is okay. However, rooms are small and do not take heavy luggage with you,...

My wife and I spent in Anadolu 4 nights between 18 and 22 May 2014. First we were given a room in a building across the street but we did not like this room so they gave us room in main building and it was much, much better (thanks for this!). Of course location is just the biggest advantage, close...

The location of the hotel is perfect. You are literally a few steps away from the main tourist attractions. The street is also rather nice. Unfortunately, this is the best feature of the hotel. At least in the experience of my partner and me. I booked a double room in the hotel. Nevertheless, at the arrival we were asked again...

The. location is certainly a great feature, , literally two minutes from the cistern, the fountain in fountain in front of Topaki palace. Our first room was postcard sized, but they happily upgraded us next day to a larger room with view and a balcony. Breakfast was decent and generous, staff helpful as others have said and the tram station...

Our 1 night stay at Anadolu hotel was memorable. Staff was very helpful. They also booked an airport shuttle for us. After checkout, they kept our luggage until the airport shuttle came to pick us, which was 4 hours after checkout time. 5 minutes walk to Hagia sofia & Blue mosque

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
