This budget boutique hotel was about a 10 minute walk from the Blue Mosque and all the other major sites in Sultanahmet. The room, although small, had a beautiful view to the ocean. The room was clean and airconditioned. The staff, who live on the ground floor, were quiet, friendly and helpful. The man, Oktay, helped us arrange a tour...

everything else except the location was bad, close to tourist attraction but you still need to walk a really steep hill to arrive to the main road,so stay away if you have any walking problem. Very dirty rooms which looked like they have never been vacuum cleaned. I asked the owner to clean the room and he said he did...

I liked the dislocation of this hotel - next to the most famouse sights! It's quite and suite place for your staing at Istambul. Good price and you have a room in old turkish style. It's not a "cool" hotel, but very cosy. The owner of this hotel always help to find everything what you want in Istambul. Explains to...

We stayed at this hotel in April 2015. The location was central; close to Little Hagia Sofia and a short walk away from Sultan Ahmed square. The closest tram stations are Sultan Ahmed or Cemberlitas on Tram 1 which are both a 10 minute walk away. It is set in a quiet steep road which might be too steep for...

We stayed at the Mystic Hotel for a week at the end of February, 2015. The location is excellent and the wifi worked well and we had a great view of the sea. The family who owns it seemed unfriendly, but maybe it is because they are shy and not very good at speaking English. The wife did offer us...

When trying to make a reservation, I have to say I met the worst customer service ever. They actually don't have any prices, they just try to negociate with you in a very impolite way. I do not know anything about their room conditions or anything else so this is just for their customer relation which is saying everything for...

Overall we had a very good experience with this hotel. It wasn't fancy, but you get what you pay for and the location was fantastic. Good Things: We arrived very late at night. Not only was the ride arranged by the hotel ready and waiting at the airport, but our check in went off without a hitch. They also were...

The good things first: The bed was ok to sleep in. The location was exellent. And thank God the bed was ok, that was the only tning that was working. There was a lamp with no bulb in, the television did not work, and the minibar was empty. But the worst thing was that they only did the bed, bul...

A little hard to find initially, but the hotel is in a very nice location in the Sultanahmet area. The owner seemed like a nice quiet guy. Not very social or outgoing, but always provided good information when you needed something. And sadly that's where the nice things about this hotel end. Those pictures on the website are not realistic....

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
