I liked this place. Its a great location, only a few blocks from the main attractions, Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque, and its pretty affordable as well. The staff seemed friendly and also helpful. They helped book me a room in my next hotel in Edirne where no one, spoke English. The dorms were ok and most important of...

We spent 5 nights at Antique...It is in a great location, only a 3 minute walk to the Blue Mosque and Haga Sofia, there are plenty of excellent cafes and restaurants close by, it has an excellent view over the Marmara and a cute roof top terrace. The included breakfast wasn't too bad- bread, cheese, olives, watermelon, boiled eggs, corn...

A fantastic place to stay, friendly helpful staff, an outstanding breakfast (cheese, bread, olives, vegetables, eggs, cereal) with a sea view, and the wide variety of travellers (ranging from 16 - 76) meant that even the backpackers in the six-person dorms were quiet and respectful -- no late drunken arrivals while I was there. Also, it's a beautiful and safe...

I would definitely recommend Antique to anyone staying in Istanbul. We stayed in a 4 bedroom suite with a private restroom. The room was clean, comfortable and had a beautiful decor. Staff was friendly and helpful as well. Antique also provides a hearty breakfast on the rooftop with a great view of the Bosporus. Enjoy!

The Hostel was a great place to stay The roof terrace lived up to expectations and whether day or night the view was amazing and the call to prayer very atmospheric . The breakfast was good and the staff were very freindly and helpful. We had a street facing room which was great although the plastic bottle recycling man made...

Being in the Sultanahmet area, this hostel is in the perfect position. You walk for five minutes and the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia are right there! The staff here are wonderful too. The only downfall is the free breakfast, which is very poor and mainly consists of bread. Also, the "included" transfer is very expensive, although it is possibly...

We loved our stay at the Antique Hostel--indeed, it exceeded our expectations. It was quiet, clean, and it has a great bar and terrace. I enjoyed getting up early before the very nice breakfast (included) and checking my email on the free computers on the roofed part of the terrace, overlooking the Sea of Marmora. The location is amazing--the best...

The staff was amazingly helpful and did provide us with detailed information about places and things to do in Istanbul. Its located 3 minutes form the Blue Mosque, witch is very convenient in terms of connectivity to other locations, bus, tram and metro. The hostel provides WiFi connection but its not so fast at all. There was only 2 drawbacks...

The place was exactly what we've expected. The front desk guys were exceptionally nice and helpful. The place has a terrace with a beautiful view of the Bosphorus where you can get something to eat and a bar to drink a good bear. The only detail I would point out is that the room we got (a private double) was...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
