-First, you can't beat the location. We looked out our window at the Blue Mosque only a football field (American) away and couldn't believe it. It's a short walk to all the Sultanahmet sites, very good restaurants, shopping, you name it. -Second, this is a very family-friendly hotel. We're used to European and East Asian hotels that are stumped to...

Very nice hotel in the heart of historic Istanbul. Attentive staff, great Turkish breakfast, clean and cozy rooms. Highly recommended for a few days in Istanbul.

The noisiest hotel I've ever stayed in across 54 countries and 50 U.S. States. Concrete trucks, gravel haulers, various other road construction equipment, garbage trucks, city cleaners, tour buses, idling coaches, banging doors, tile hallways, and all this before prayer calls at 5:45 am. Breakfasts are very weak as well. Only strength is location right between the major sights in...

If you are a light sleeper, do not accept a room at Armagrandi annex building next door from the main building, especially the room that shares a wall with the entrance door. We stayed twice at Armagrandi during our recent trip to Istanbul. The first stay was good in a quiet room in the main building and breakfast was excellent....

The hotel is extremely close to all the main tourist attractions in this area. It is a short walk to the tram stop which links you to anywhere you may wish to visit further afield. The uninterrupted views of the blue mosque & hagia sophia from the roof terrace make this hotel something special. Our room was basic & a...

A lovely little quaint hotel in a prime location. There's lots of shops and restaurants on the same street and the Blue mosque is literally around the corner. The location is amazing! The hotel was perfect for us as we were only in Istanbul for a very short period. The hotel is nicely decorated and the rooms are not too...

We visited Spina hotel on a 3 day trip to Istanbul. It's a nice little hotel with absolutely great location! If you go strongly suggest to insist on booking room #603, has great balcony with view to Aghia Sofia and Blue Mosque, which are so close that you think you can touch them! The room wasn't big but wasn't small...

The location, as mentioned in prior posts, is PERFECT. Smack in between the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia with incredible views of both, and the Bosphorus from the rooftop bar. Which, I should mention is not really a bar, though they will serve you drinks (and maybe food?) more on that later. Rooms are small, but clean. Minibar was reasonable,...

This hotel has to have one of the best locations in Sultanahmet (much better than I realised when I booked it!) Right between Ayasofia and the Blue Mosque, and 20 paces from the cafes and bars of Sultanahmet. It has amazing views across the Bosphorous from the roof terrace. Our room was ok - we had the room next to...

We were there for 4 nights and starting from the airport pickup till the time the luggage was loaded in our rental car 4 days later, everything was superb. The staff was very helpful and we even managed to rent a good cheap car at the same quality value as that of Avis, thanks to the Manager ,Kadir Kilic. Will...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
