Stayed here fro 2 nights in March. Hotel is located near to Taksim Square and just off Istanbuls main shopping street. Area is very lively at night with lots of bars, restaurants, clubs and cafes. Masses of people. Hotel is clean, if a little tired looking, but comfortable. Although in a very busy area the room was insulated from the noise...

Not close to the turist sites but these ones can be easily reached thru public transportation during day-light. At night it is located where you should be to save taxi fares. Free WiFi Internet in all floors. Bad point - I have never seen such a small bathroom. After you take a shower you will need to dry the whole...

I have stayed in this hotel with my wife for 4 days. First of all - great location, right in the center of Istiklal Street, where you can find anything you need. Secondly - very good hotel personnel, ready to assist you on any matter. Thirdly - safe place to stay, right across the hotel there is a police station....

I stayed in Hotel Residence for 5 nights in October. I was attending a conference in Lufti Kirdar Congress Centre (next to Hilton Conference Centre). Had been to istanbul twice before but this is my first time staying in Taksim, previously stayed in Sultanahmet. Location: Very happy as 5 minutes leisurely walk from Havas airport bus stop on taksim square,...

Great location - good price 50 Euros for a double..have stayed in the new trendy istnabul boutique places that just dont cut it with the bad service and amateurish appraoch to hospitality business. Love the street, it is like old istiklal and not the globalized mall that it is becoming... Free fast internet and breakfast is good, except coffee of...

We visited Istanbul on return from Prag/Wien trip with family. The reason for our visit was shopping. We stayed there for 3 nights and were very happy staying there. The hotel is only 3 buildings away from the popular Istiklal Street, so the location is more than perfect. The rooms are being cleaned daily and the sheets and towels are...

We made an online reservation. The location seemed to be perfect for our trip. Finding the hotel was quite difficult as it is situated on a labyrinth of narrow and crowded streets. The staff was friendly welcoming us but the shock was when we finally entered the room. It was supposed to be a double room (twin beds) but what...

I liked this hotel. The location is really fine. The buffet breakfast is all that you could expect and well presented. The staff were very friendly. The hotel is centrally located on a side street and easy to find. On that street there are several small places to eat which are somewhat cheaper and you can buy your newspaper and...

Excellent location, good 3 star hotel, only disadvantage is the street noise during the weekend because of the bars in the area. The music of the bars and the sirens of the police cars could be a problem. Weekdays are peaceful and nice. The staff is helpful. There is computer available for the quests on the lobby free of charge.

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
