A few friends and I booked the Penthouse Suite at the Violet Apartments; which combines the 2 rooms at the top floor of the building. It can sleep up to 6 people. There is a little private balcony that fits 4 people comfortably with a perfect view of Hagia Sophia and the Bosphorus on the left. It has to be...

We had a great stay here, we felt very welcome and the location couldn't be faulted. the shower was interesting with no real 'cubicle' but was hot with good pressure. The room was large and had everything we needed. The wifi worked with no dropping out and the price was excellent.

Stayed at the Violet Apartments for 3 nights in the single room on the ground floor. If you are looking for a cheap stay with close proximity to all the historical sights and the metro, I would suggest this place. There is no reception area or a board for the hotel, so it can be tricky to find it...There was...

I stayed here with my family in May 2013 and it was a very nice apartment for a good price and only a 5 minute walk from the Blue Mosque/Aya Sophia! Naim (owner/caretaker) is very very kind and helpful and was available any time we needed him.

I went with my boyfriend 2 months ago for 6 days and I think this apartment is the most appropriate place for people who first came Turkey. Not specially for the price or localitzation (it is a good price and it localized at a very centric zone, near to everything worth to visit in Istambul) but for the most friendly...

I went with my family for a formula 1 race in Istanbul and we wanted to visit the tourist aria too. It's very close to St. Sofia and the view from the balcony is amazing, especially late at night. The person who we meet there was called Naim, was very friendly and helpful. Thanks for everything

I'm a guy who lives in Turkey (but not in Istanbul), and I was welcoming my family here for the first time. Our flat was perfect for us. Perfect location, great price, good internet. Everything that we needed was great. My family is not as keen on walking for hours as I am, and being right next to Hagia Sophia...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
