Went there with my wife, my 9 months old son, and my mother-in-law. We booked one double deluxe room and one single room. I left a note when booking to include a baby cot in our double deluxe room for my 9 months old son and found it ready when I checked in. The staff were very friendly, they love... More

The rooms are very clean and the staff are exceptionally warm and very helpful people. Their Reception/front office manager Mr Ahyan is simply wonderful, any... More

Enjoyed our stay in this hotel - the staff, especially Ayhan and Ismail were very helpful and accommodating. We were given a few rooms to choose from on our arrival with different views of the area. We chose rooms with views of the Sultanahmet Mosque which made our stay especially memorable! My only criticisms of the rooms would be that... More

- I was in Istanbul for 5 days between the attack at the airport and the coup. Many people tried to dissuade me from going but my stay at Hotel Darussade made everything worthwhile. I cannot compliment and recommend this hotel enough. It is a charming small hotel wonderfully located in Sultanhemet. The bedroom faced the Blue Mosque and breakfast... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
