Stayed here twice in July and was satisfied both times. Very easy to get to via the tram metro... The hotel is directly in front of the gullhane stop so it can't get any easier. Location is ideal in the Sultahmet within short walk to everything. Staff is friendly and very helpful. Breakfast is delicious with a few more choices... More

My wife and I stayed at the Constantine Hotel in Istanbul with our friend in September of 2010 and absolutely loved it. The location was extremely central to all of Istanbul's attractions, with main attractions either within walking distance or via the metro line right outside. The staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel itself had a great little... More

The location of this hotel made all the difference to our visit. While not palatial the amenities were absolutely adequate for our purposes, totally comfortable, pristine clean and the courtesy shown by everyone was outstanding. Being so central to many of the historical sites it was a pleasure to step out the door and discover! Thank you so much for... More

We stayed there several times, the first reason of our choice is the price of this hotel. We payed something like 35-40E/ per night which is very cheap for the location and services. The hotel has an elevator (quite small but useful) and the staff is very friendly. Rooms are clean but tiny, anyway for this price it's a very... More

Excellently located close to Topkapi Palace and within easy walking distance of the main tourist attractions and the ferries. Very wide choice of restaurants and bars nearby. The tram stopped outside the door, was easy to use and met all of our transport needs. Rooms of adequate size and amenity. Helpful staff. The buffet breakfast had the broadest choice that... More

The Constantine is in a great location in Sultanahmet with all the major tourist sights within walking distance including Topkapi Palace, The Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Basilica Cisterns, The Grand Bazaar and Spice Markets. Other sights within Istanbul are also extremely accessible as the Gulhane tram stop is directly out the front of the hotel. There are some fantastic restaurants... More

A few steps from Topkapi, not far from Egyptian bazar and Galata bridge. Nice restaurants of all standards in the vicinity. Tramway stop in front of the hotel. Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
