Do not trust in the photos! The unique good thing about this hostel is the location, Room: terrible! Bed: terrible! Bathroom: disgusting! Staff: not friendly. Definitely, I do not recommend this hotel and I would not stay there again!

Starting with the positives: Great view of Hagia Sophia to wake up to, convenient location close to the square. We didn't get bedbugs. The negatives, a much longer list: Probably one of the worst breakfasts we've ever been served. We usually don't mind, if the room/bed is comfortable... but it sure wasn't. Short. lumpy matresses with very little walking space...

The hostel has a great view from the top bedroom/balcony! AMAZING help was received by staff, especially Igor! They helped us book all the transfers and buses we needed too and the location is extremely good - a few minutes walk to the Blue Mosque! Had a great time!

Don't believe that you can get a place on the terrace for $5, it is always 'booked out' even though you can look out the window and see it's mostly empty every night... even if you book in advance you might arrive to be told you have to move inside and pay the normal price of $10 or so per...

Fantastic hostel. We had a great time just chilling outside in the bar drinking Efes and on the balcony overlooking the Blue Mosque. The location was very central and allowed for us to substantially soak up the atmosphere of Istanbul. We easily met so many chilled people during our stay and ended up having memorable nights out in Taksim exploring...

I'm staying in the Best Island Hostel right now, on my 3rd of a 5-day stay. From start, the amazing staff was very welcoming and nice, Yusuf during the day and Selim during the night, they are not just hostel staff, they have become my friends. They just do everything that they can to ensure your stay is amazing, and...

If you are looking for luxury don't come here. It is very clean but no frills. You do get a decent filling Turkish breakfast included in the price. There is wifi and it is in and great location within walking distance of most of the main sights. The hosts were friendly and welcoming. Come here if you are looking for...

Great location within walking distance of beautiful sites, helpful and friendly staff and yummy simple breakfast. Despite the fact that we had initially messed up our room booking staff quickly rectified. Thank you :)

The experience in this hostel was good. Unfortunally in the airport I realized that my 600 euros that I had to continue my travel were stolen in the hostel. I let the money in my backpack all the time at the side of my bed. In the Hostel they have 16 cameras but I don't know whom this camaras work...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
