The Sheraton Istanbul City Center is lauded for its cleanliness and stylish atmosphere, with guests often acknowledging the spacious, well-appointed rooms. Despite some concerns over room size and sound insulation, the staff's warm and attentive service receives high marks for enhancing guest experiences.
While opinions on value vary, the amenities, including a praised breakfast and a handy shuttle service to Taksim Square, contribute to the hotel's appeal. However, travelers suggest the location may not be the best for those who prefer to explore on foot.

Detailed Reviews
I really really want to give a 5* review due to the effort of the team at the hotel but it does just fall short.
We stayed for 3 nights, I contacted the hotel in advance to request a room on a high floor and on arrival we were promptly checked in and given a room on the top floor. Great start. Reception and concierge staff were really friendly and it was a wonderful welcome.
The room was spacious and decorated nicely with a large ensuite bathroom and a great walk in shower.
Breakfast was plentiful and a highlight of the stay. The onsite bars and restaurants were also exceptional.
I had two issues with the hotel, the first one was minor in that it's called the Istanbul Central but I didn't really find it very Central to anything that we wanted to see/do. Having said that, Uber worked very well and it was only around £3-£4 to anywhere in Istanbul, the hotel also had a complimentary shuttle bus to Taksim Square which operated throughout the day and night, so the location issue wasn't really much of a problem in the end.
The second issue which was less favourable was the noise. I found it really difficult to get a good night's sleep. Whether it was noise from the main road outside, the corridor or the neighbouring rooms there was always something which woke me up and this is the only reason for dropping to a 4/5. I'm generally quite a heavy sleeper too so I'm not sure what the solution is here.
Above all else - the staff were by far the best I've ever come across in any hotel worldwide and they certainly made the stay an enjoyable one nonetheless. Every single member of staff I encountered throughout the stay, from restaurants to reception to bars to concierge to housekeeping were all so friendly and helpful, thank you everyone for being so welcoming and for your first class service.

We stayed there twice from 8th to 12th and then from 15th to 18th.
Had a fantastic stay both times. The teams went out of their way to ensure that we had a very very comfortable stay. We were travelling with our elderly parents and two infants who were delighted with the stay. They helped us celebrate our mom’s birthday with a lovely surprise cake in the room. We had made our reservation initially only for the first duration , however we were so overwhelmed with the stay that we chose to cancel our reservation in another hotel in a different part of the city for our second stay in Istanbul and came back to Sheraton. Before coming in we were in touch with Sukru and Melih and they were very helpful in getting our logistics sorted and in planning our itinerary in Istanbul. Upon arriving we were very warmly greeted by the concierge team of Mehmet Ali and Kerem. The check in was smooth with some great recommendations given by Yasin. Room assignments were done well. Sukru was throughout our stay very helpful. Idris from the Housekeeping who was taking care of our rooms was very helpful and prompt. The team at the breakfast area was also very prompt and helpful. They were very friendly with the kids. There was one gentleman (elderly wears spectacles - apologise for missing the name) who would everyday come to the table and greet us and check on our stay and comfort. His warmth made our kids look forward to meeting him every morning at breakfast. The Chef at the egg station , patiently dishing out morning treats for everyone inspite of such busy operations. When we came for the second stay on 15th late night, Ali and Metin at the desk were very helpful and coorporative with our last minute reservation and we were welcomed back warmly by Ahmet from the concierge. Had a great stay this time too. We were seen off by Yucel and Mehmet Ali warmly. We will definitely come back and stay here.
Would also like to thank the General Manager Mr Hakan Sezgin for leading, nurturing and empowering such a wonderful team who help the guests create memories for life. Thank you for everything Mr Sezgin and the team from my family in India and Ireland 🙏🏻

The hotel left a pleasant impression: a comfortable, modern room, a lot of lighting options, there is an iron with an ironing board - which is very convenient, all hygiene facilities - down to toothbrush and paste, a set of tea and coffee, bottled water. King-size bed, very comfortable, linen snow white, quality. There is a shuttle service to and from Taksim every hour, used, very convenient. Thank you very much to the staff for your comfortable stay at the hotel. From the moment of arrival and all the time of stay, one feels very kind and attentive, from reception to the service in the restaurant. Special thanks to Augirem and Ibrahim, always with smile, respect, friendly, very attuned to themselves. Hotel Sheraton is a priority for staying in Istanbul. 👍🤗❤️

My dad booked 3 nights (executive room) at the Sheraton. We arrived around 1.50pm and were told by front desk that the rooms were not ready but that a staff would come look for us in "30 minutes, maximum 1 hour" as the rooms were not ready.
We waited in the club lounge for over an hour. No one came - even though the check in time was 3pm. We had to go look for someone to assist. Front desk told us that our rooms, which were supposed to be on the executive floors (6th and 7th floors), were not ready (even though it was past check in time). They allocated us rooms on the 3rd floor instead.
We were told that there would be in room amenities (snacks) in our room, as my dad has the Marriott Platinum Elite status. There were no amenities provided when we got to our room; these were only sent later and after we spoke to the front desk. Our room cards - which were supposed to have lounge access - could not access the lounge initially and we had to speak to the front desk and concierge multiple times before this was resolved.
When we asked the front desk why we were allocated the rooms on the 3rd floor instead of the executive floors which we had booked, we were told that the rooms "were the same" (if they are the same why are you marketing them as different rooms on your website, and why does the hotel lift directory state that the executive rooms are on the 6th and 7th floors?). We were also provided with the excuse that the rooms we were supposed to be allocated were not ready at 3pm - notwithstanding that this was the check in time - because "guests from the night before have late checkouts". This is the first time I've heard of such an excuse.
No attempts at service recovery were made at any juncture. The front desk just seems inexperienced at times. When we asked to borrow umbrellas from the hotel, we were told that we had to pay a deposit (yet another first from Sheraton). The returning of the umbrellas was a tedious process that took longer than it ought to have taken, with us being shuttled between front desk and concierge because - apparently - there is a designated umbrella man.
The doormen are lovely.
As for the rooms, they are adequate. The sound proofing is horrible though (you can hear anything that goes on outside the corridor and on the streets). Bathrobes are available only upon request. No toothbrush/toothpaste is provided. The hotel's location is slightly far from the main tourist attractions, but there is a free hotel shuttle to Taksim Square.

Dear Cherylcxe, Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding your recent stay at Sheraton Istanbul City Center. We genuinely appreciate your input as it helps us to continuously improve the quality of our services. We are deeply sorry to hear about the challenges you encountered during your check-in process. It is certainly not the experience we aim to provide, and we regret that the delays and room allocation discrepancies led to frustration. Please rest assured that your comments have been forwarded to our management team to review and address these issues. We apologize for the lack of in-room amenities upon your arrival and for the issues you faced with lounge access. This should have been arranged seamlessly, and we regret that it was not handled to your satisfaction. Additionally, we understand your concerns regarding the soundproofing of your room, and we will investigate this further to improve our guest experience. We would like to emphasize that your comfort is our priority, and we apologize for the inconvenience you experienced with the umbrella process. We appreciate your understanding in this regard, and your comments will be taken into account as we seek to streamline our guest services. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the service provided by our doormen, and we truly appreciate your kind words. The restaurant and reception staff provided amazing customer service, especially Yucel, who is very kind, patient, and caring. As a sales account manager, I was truly impressed by the level of support and professionalism demonstrated by Yucel, and I would be delighted to have someone like him on my team.
On the other hand, the cleaning service was not up to standard, and their manager should take responsibility to ensure the team performs their duties properly. It was the first time I encountered a hotel where the cleaners reused the same bedsheets every day. Instead of thoroughly cleaning the room, they simply reorganized things and called it done, which comes across as extremely lazy and unacceptable.

Dear abdoulayet921, Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback about your recent stay. We are thrilled to hear that you were impressed by our restaurant and reception teams, especially Yücel. He truly exemplifies the values of our hotel, and we will ensure your kind words are shared with him. We deeply regret that your experience with our cleaning service fell short of your expectations. Please allow us to clarify that, as part of our sustainability program, we change bed linens every three days unless a specific request for a daily change is made. This initiative helps us reduce our environmental footprint, but we understand it should never compromise your comfort or the cleanliness of your room. Your concerns have been shared with our Housekeeping Manager, who is committed to addressing these issues with the team to prevent similar occurrences. We greatly value your feedback as it helps us improve. Should you decide to stay with us again, we would be delighted to ensure a flawless experience from start to finish. With kindest regards, Guest Relations Team

Stayed at this hotel for 5 nights with my son. Check in was disappointing with Beyza as she took longer than necessary and when we eventually got to our room, she had given us a room with a king size bed instead of a deluxe twin bed room! We went back to reception to complain and were given another room by Fardin, which was exactly the same room! Suffice to say we were given 3 rooms with the wrong type of bed and I was so furious before we were given the correct room (4th room) eventually. This last one had a horrible view and had an adjourning room but couldn’t be bothered to have it changed again. The next day when we returned to our room after a day out, there was a letter from Fardin, the Duty manager asking for a chat regarding the check-in issue. He also phoned the room so I went to reception and not only did he apologise, he also swapped our room with a better view and gave us lounge access. So all good!
The room was ok, beds comfortable and the bathroom had a powerful shower, fluffy towels and very good toiletries. However, cleaning was hit and miss. Some days it was good and other days beds were not made properly, beverages not refilled and bathroom floor not moped at all so needs to be improved. Breakfast was very good with a large spread. Akim the concierge was friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
On our last day, we checked out as normal as our flight was later in the day. We went to town and came back to the hotel about 45 minutes before leaving for the airport. My son asked for lounge access for a while and Metin at Reception was quite rude to him and refused even though he explained that we had access until we checked out. He refused until my son asked for the manager and then he reluctantly gave us access for about 35 minutes before leaving.
My overall rating is based on our experience .

If I could give this hotel a zero star review I would. I have many issues with this hotel which I will list all in this review. This hotel is affiliated with Marriott and its suppose to be a five star hotel but they treat their guests like garbage and not like a five star hotel should be treating their guests. My mom was ordering breakfast and we are vegetarian she asked the cook to wipe the pan or get a new pan since she cooked meat on it. My mom gets eggs every morning and we were staying in Sheraton for 6 days. So on the third day that my mom asked to cook the eggs and clean the pan before cooking on it, the cook started cursing in Turkish, becoming angry and showing attitude, because this is the third day in row that the cook is wiping the pan with a tissue for my mom. She even started hitting the pan against the stove from anger. We knew she was cursing and getting angry because my mom speaks Uzbeki and Uzbeki is very similar to Turkish. My mom spoke to the manager and honestly they really didn’t care. They don’t even accommodate vegetarian people, they should have had a separate pan just for vegetarian people but they don’t. The costumer service here sucks half the time you’re waiting for the concierge to come for like 5-10 minutes they’re not even in the desk that they have to be in. The cleaning ladies just walk in, in the morning and walk in like it’s there house. Even though I put the don’t disturb button, today she walked twice at 9:00 and 9:30 I got really flustered and shocked and I told her to come in later not now and that I will let you know when to come in. The final thing I want to mention in this review is there exclusive club lounge there is people working there but they are on there phone during work and not paying attention. They had pots of hot water for you to pour in and when I wanted to pour in hot water in my cup the top of the pot was open and all the hot water spilled on my hand and all over the counter and floor. I got burned and again the manager didn’t do anything except give me a cream to put and ice. The manager told me it’s not fault that this happened and there’s nothing we can do. This is not our first time in Istanbul we always stayed in Pera Palace and Rixos Pera and we never had a problem this is the last time I’ll ever stay with Sheraton and Marriott honestly. I’m very disappointed don’t stay in this hotel unless you want horrible service and staff that don’t care about you. You’re suffering basically for your own money.

So clearly this Sheraton is not up to par with what we have experienced elsewhere.
Positive :
- the decor
- the quality of the bedding
- accessibility to the lounge
- the fitness area (on the other hand, we are not deaf….!)
Negative:
- very average location. It is 900m from Taksim Square, but with a difference in altitude ++++
There is nothing around if you want to go out at night, the area is really ugly.
To overcome this problem of climbing, the hotel organizes free shuttles to reach Taksim. Very practical but 1 departure and 1 return per hour. 1st departure 10 a.m., last return 9:30 p.m. A bit tight if you dine outside. Every 30 minutes would be perfect. On the other hand, hotel well located if you use taxis because it is close to everything in terms of kilometers. If you use public transportation, you must go to Taksim Square.
- located on a busy road: we had a room facing the street. Soundproofing to be reviewed! No bathrobes in the rooms and bathroom glass never changed in a week.
- very average breakfast: in 1 week, always the same thing and the bread is defrosted, put in the oven and served.
With the good bread found in Istanbul: incomprehensible
Some mornings, no cup or mug, you have to use paper cups! Why not paper plates?
- swimming pool more than cold, hammam HS, sauna OK
- the staff: the professionals, lobby, concierge, and a fifty-year-old gentleman at breakfast, were very friendly. But for the others we hope that it is the lack of training which explains this unfriendliness: you come across staff in the corridor, no response to your hello, the same in the lounge, you can come across 10 different staff, no one greets or greets you. smiles ! We were very surprised, we had never had this customer experience.
- we reported several taxi scams booked by the concierge: no return.
In short, we will not return to this Sheraton.

I chose this Sheraton for a group after a cruise and it worked well.
First, I was sort of provoked by a front desk staff when I asked about Bonvoy Points for the stay. He said it didn't apply to group rates. However, I had this confirmed by sales management. I showed the email to him, and he went on saying I needed to talk to them. That's not what a loyal customer expects upon checking-in. He should have been more complacent instead of causing an argument. Then, I spoke to another front desk staff, Onur, who apologized and said points would be awarded if it was agreed.
Since we arrived around 12:30pm some of the rooms were not ready but they made an effort to have them ready by 2pm. Seems this hotel gets lots of groups and the lobby had a constant flow of people most of the time.
The hotel is fairly new, in an 8-floor building. There are no decent views from any floor, since there is a demolished building at the back and there is a hill across the main street of the hotel with some old commercial buildings. Nothing special to see in those streets. They know that, so they provide a shuttle to Taksim every hour until 9pm which is convenient.
The rooms are fresh and well equipped. Comfortable beds and linens, ample bathrooms with all the amenities. Only thing I didn't like is the lack of dedicated space to put 2 pieces of luggage that was not considered by the interior designers. There is space for one bag and the other bag needs to be placed against the curtains.
The hotel lobby is well designed with several food and beverage outlets on both sides. There's a nice vibe at all these places and it is inviting to stay and consume inside.
Breakfast at the large Souk venue is very well stocked with lots of choices, however, it fell a bit short of my expectations for Istanbul because there were some flies over the fruits and this discouraged me from helping myself to other sweet items.
Overall a good choice for groups and business clients with a clean and efficient operation. It gave us the best price / value option in Istanbul during the peak summer season.

Was little apprehensive on this property after reading low scoring reviews but good that did not experience anything like this. Writing this while staying in property in Dec'24 and they have scored well on all counts. Front office staff is very welcoming and was a quick check-in and was a great help in providing all necessary information for tourist places to see. Property is very central to city and their free shuttle service to and fro from Taksim Square is also very helpful and helps. Property looks luxurious with great lobby and waiting area.
Rooms are spacious and very clean and so is the linen and towel quality as well. Breakfast spread was way too expansive and does not impose any challenge for a vegetarian like me. Lot of fruits variety, break options, cereals and good quality tea (being a tea lover) takes care of every need for a great start to the day. GYM is way too big though did not get a chance to use it but almost as big as any 5 star property.
Only scope for improvement which I read was on food. Though breakfast is great but else not much to offer for vegetarians in lunch and dinner options. Also I could see lots of of guest they have from Asian countries like India and China, I can recommend if they can add veg Noodles and Veg Biryani (non-veg options are easy to adopt) this hopefully can take enough care for vegetarians like me and people from India and other Asian countries.
