This was our first time in Istanbul. The hotel is excellently located for many of the tourist attractions and near to a tramway stop. Room was clean and adequate with minibar, TV and telephone, and the bathroom worked OK. Breakfast was good and dishes were replenished on a regular basis. Staff were very helpful, both at breakfast and in reception....

we booked an overnight stay to istanbul from sunny beach in bulgaria so had no idea what hotel we were going to stay at, the rooms were pretty small but fine as it was only for 1 night but for any longer i think you would have struggled to store your clothes and suitcase, the bathroom was also small, there...

This was a hotel booked by our tour company and we booked an extra night there pre-tour. Our room was small but adequate and unlike other reviewers we had no problems with cleanliness. They provide a good breakfast (Turkish style) with good views from the top floor breakfast room. Location is excellent being only 150metres from the tram, 200 metres...

The rooms stink of cigarettes, overwhelmingly so. They were quite small as well. The food there was not bad, a good free Internet connection but the worst thing was the steep, dangerous spiral stairs.

We stayed at this hotel for one night. The staff was very friendly and spoke english well, and the lobby was nice. The breakfast was good (but not the eggs). The room was horrible! The floor and the carpet was full of hair and the bathroom was not clean at all. We actually had to stand on a towel in...

This is one of many little hotels smack in the middle of the Old City. What an oasis. The rooms are small, there's just one tv station in English but since that's BBC that's all I needed to get world news. The der gentleman in the reception speaks English and is very helpful. Immediately outside there are restaurants and shops...

Small hotel located within walking distance to many popular tourist sites as well as the tram line. Located on a pedestrian street so cabs can't drop you off at the door, and it could be difficult to wheel a lot of luggage over the cobble stones. It's only a building length in from the street where you can be dropped...

When we arrived the reception attendant (about 17yrs old) ignored us, then asked us if we wanted to check in...(eh yes we have arrive and have luggage here etc), he then continued to clean pictures on the wall and ignore us until he decided to say do you have passports, a very poor and slow checkin experience. We were taken...

The hotel is close to the main attractions, the room was small but cosy and clean. Breakfast was good and the staff was friendly and helpful. You can use Wi-Fi in the lounge for free. Though there is no tea/coffee making facilities in the room.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
