Because of a great previous experience staying at Art City Hotel (it was absolutely superb), we decided to book the same hotel for another trip to Istanbul. It's a mere 5min walk from Cemberlitas Tram station and 5 minutes from the Blue Mosque with adequate restaurants and shops close-by. The hotel has since expanded (now includes Tulip House) so what...

One of the best hotels in the city. It is sparkling clean, with phenomenal service, and an exceptional location. The three of us stayed here for a week, and it was more than we could have ever hoped for. First off, the location is excellent, in a safe part of the city (which is vitally important in a place like...

A nice, small hotel which cost you a fortune, as it is very centraly located. Very easy to walk around for all the monuments of istanbuls old town, Galata bridge, Egyptian market, Grand Bazaar, etc. Helpful and patient staff, and if course, a very nice breakfast! Also, had a great WiFi connection in the room, even though room itself was...

Nice, pleasant hotel. Not suitable if you have big luggage as the stairs are steep and lots of climbing. Location is a little isolated but nevertheless, very close to amenities, shopping etc. A great hotel if you love walking, lots of walking opportunities. If you are moving around with your baggage, may encounter difficulty with bigger bags. Otherwise, definitely this...

This is a cheap hotel and you get what you pay for. I had slightly higher expectations for the place so was a little disappointed but that passed. The hotel is located in the old city, about 5 mins from the blue mosque. First impressions of the area was that it was run down and not very nice but after...

Booked 2 standard rooms based on reviews giving this hotel 4/5 so I had great expectations, that were not met. On arrival was given one economy room in the basement and another in Tulip House. The room in Tulip house (next building) was a big disappointment, although slightly bigger, way below standard, looks unfinished plaster chipping away, no decor, very...

Close to Sultanahmet square, eg Blue mosque etc. The staff is friendly and helpful. Excellent cleaning and nice breakfast buffet either you take it inside or out side in the terrace with sea view . Everything close just 5 min walking to the tram station or shopping etc . Sure will return as soon as possible .

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
