We just concluded a wonderful 5 night family stay at Hotel Amira. Why I recommend it: (1) Staff: From helping to arrange our initial transfer from the airport to arranging a taxi to the ferry on departure, the service provided by the friendly, professional staff was top notch. They furnished restaurant recommendations and sought feedback. And the Kiziltas brothers went above and beyond to help me book ferry tickets on a very balky platform. (2) Clean, comfortable rooms. Our “family room” consisted of a separate duo of spacious rooms, which allowed my husband and I both easy access to our kids and a nice amount of privacy; both rooms were spotless and housekeeping was terrific. (3) Amenities. Morning breakfasts are generous and delicious - do not miss the flatbreads. Exercise room is well appointed, and rooftop terrace a wonderful spot for evening drinks (hearing the call to prayer while sitting up there on our first night is something I won’t soon forget). (4) Location. The Amira is about 5 mins from the Hippodrome and 7-10 from the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. It is thus perfectly situated just slightly out of the tourist crush but still very close to many of the major historic and religious sites; it’s also about 12 minutes to the Sultanahmet tram stop. There is some excellent shopping nearby (Mehmet Cetinkaya; Arasta Bazaar). Overall, terrific spot; would return in a moment.

Hotel Amira was perfect for our family of 4 - including a 10 year old and a 7 year old - traveling to Istanbul for the first time for sightseeing in August 2023. We stayed for 4 nights. The hotel staff was excellent, everyone was gracious and helpful, most spoke excellent English, and communication prior to and after booking was great. We were in the family corner suite (rooms 702 and 703 connected), which was two separate rooms with their own bathrooms, connected by a private interior hallway. One of the rooms had a balcony with room enough for a small table and two chairs. The hotel had a terrific buffet breakfast included in the cost, which had enough options for our picky eater children! There were several other families with children staying at the hotel. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and quiet! We all slept soundly even though we were on a busy corner in a touristy neighborhood. The location of this hotel was outstanding… for first time Istanbul travelers, we highly recommend staying here. The hotel is a short walk to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Hippodrome, Harem Hammam, Topkapi Palace, Spice Market, and Grand Bazaar. It was also close to the ferry, on which we crossed to visit the Asia side one day. Given how bad traffic is throughout Istanbul, we really didn’t have to rely on cabs or multi-mode transportation to see all of the sights, although we did hop on the tram at the Sultanahmet stop to take us to further neighborhoods a couple of times. The best part about this hotel was the rooftop view of the water, the breathtaking sunsets, and the top of the Blue Mosque all lit up at night. Dinner and drinks up on the roof were excellent, too, and made for a great arrival evening. This is a great hotel for families and we’ll recommend it to any family and friends who plan to travel to Istanbul.

The best features of Hotel Amira are: location, concierge staff, and daily breakfast including freshly made gözleme.. The hotel is ideally located in walking distance to must-see landmarks. The multi-lingual concierge staff, namely Sam, Mert, and Serkan, were consummate professionals and coordinated a few tour excursions, hammam appointment, and airport transfer on our behalf. Very pleased with their bell service staff too. The included daily breakfast buffet was always delightful presented in a clean space, offering fresh buffet choices, and came with attentive service by a friendly staff.

Hotel Amira is a wonderful place for you to stay while exploring Istanbul. They arranged a lot for us before we arrived—like airport shuttle service and a guide for all the important must see places. We were greeted like family and went immediately to the rooftop for a sunset dinner and view of the sea and blue mosque. The inclusive breakfast is wonderful and even included the traditional flatbread made by hand. The lobby has a touch screen TV to help guide your choices for dinners and sight seeing and the staff is always eager to help you make the best choices. The rooms were cleaned and stocked daily to include two generous sized bottles of water each day. It is ideally located within walking distance of so many great parts of town. And when we needed to take the tram for a boat ride the staff was quick to provide a city pass for our use and directions on how to get to our port. Amira is wonderful and I will be excited to stay with them again on our next visit!

1.Location: The hotel is located in the most historic part of the city, literally 5 minutes walk from Hagia Sofya and Blue Mosque as well as the Sultanahmet tram station which is all that you need to move through the busiest parts of Istanbul. The neighbourhood is very busy but not loud and annoying, very very safe even at late night, in front of the hotel are plenty of cabs anytime of the day.
2.Staff: The staff is truly the heart of this hotel. From the guys at the reception front , to the breakfast service staff, the cleaners, the restaurant staff.I was amazed by the level of professionalism shown, the knowledge, the genuine smiles, the allocated -no rush time you were given by the staff and the detailed suggestions to help us organise our trip better. We travel a lot and to be honest its a very rare find.
3.Rooms: We stayed at the top floor in room 801 which is a deluxe room with balcony.Beware, all rooms in Istanbul are tiny, do not believe anything you see.I was surprised to see that the room was even bigger in real life, literally 35 sqm which is way more than enough for 2 people( we stayed for 3 nights). The room is bright, with a classic-classy style, the bed is amazingly comfortable and crisp. Cleanness of the room is more than spot on, you could smell the linen and the bathroom was shiny. The balcony is adequate and overlooks a part of the city and the small Haghia Sofya church, providing wonderful sunsets. What’s most important is that the room is so quiet, you can’t hear anything once the doors shut, and heavy curtains allowing you to sleep deep and well.
4.Breakfast: To be honest, this was the freshest food we ate during our 12 days trip in total. Everyday fresh items, the best scrambled i had in a hotel for years, organic honey in the comb, organic butter, delicious coffee, great variety of cheeses and cold cuts. The buffet is being refilled by the staff non stop and they tirelessly try to make your breakfast experience amazing.
Overall, i wish i could rate the hotel even higher, it’s a true oasis in Istanbul, we will surely come back. If you are looking to travel and have proper peace of mind to enjoy the beautiful Istanbul, well look no more. Lots of love from Greece, see you again soon. Kostas & Nasia

Hotel Amira js a nice, cozy 3-4 star property with excellent hospitality. The location of this hotel is extremely well placed for tourists, as all major attractions are at walking distance. Eateries, restaurants, tourist services, metro and Tramline, buses.. everything is at a walking distance and helps to get around the city very easily. Rooms, food etc is very good too. But the best thing at the hotel is hospitality and care of the staff. They are very cooperative, provide ample guidance and services to help guests and go all out to make guests comfortable.
I recommend this hotel for family and tourists stays

Hotel Amira's staff is the most helpful and pleasant I have ever experienced. The room was large, clean and very comfortable, with all the necessary amenities. The breakfast buffet was abundant, varied and delicious. We arrived at 7 am after an overnight flight, and were offered a complimentary breakfast, while our rooms were prepared for us as previous guests left. Regular check in time 2 pm, but they worked hard to accommodate a group of 16 as efficiently and quickly as possible. Also, hotel Amira is located in the heart of Istanbul's historic district, in walking distance of Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, the Basilica Cistern, the Blue Mosque, the Grand Bazaar, and many other historical sites. I highly recommend it for a pleasant stay in Istanbul.

Myself and my 4 friends stayed for 4 nights in this wonderful hotel. Yes the rooms might be slightly dated in decor but location is amazing… within walking distance of all the main historical sites. The staff are all incredibly helpful and friendly … they genuinely couldn’t do enough for you. The rate included a lovely breakfast each morning which had a wide selection of hot and cold eats! It set you up nicely for the day. We booked an airport transfer and also a private walking tour with the hotel concierge. The hotel has a fabulous rooftop terrace with amazing views over the bosphorus and Golden Horn. There are an abundance of lovely restaurants close by . I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for a perfect stay in Istanbul.

The hotel was great me and my wife had a lovely time the breakfast was great I would highly recommend trying the small burek that the nena makes at the hotel the hotel staff was very professional and hospitable. Sekan gave us some very great recommendations of places to visit and things to do he pretty much planned my itinerary himself Volkan was also a very great staff member and helped me with the in house gym by turning on the lights giving a fresh towel and water bottle.I would also highly recommend the yacht cruise for the bosphurus area. The rooms are very nice and housekeeping is very attentive. This has been one of the best travels especially because of the hotel and staff! Will definitely be coming back

This is a well located , medium quality , slightly tired hotel in the old town area of Istanbul. Positives include very friendly and accommodating staff who are keen to add useful local information for your stay. It is also very walkable to all the famous tourist attractions including the Blue Mosque, Aya Sophia and Topkapi Palace. Breakfast is a good selection of local fare. The room included a good queen bed with good linen . City side rooms have poor views and I suggest you book a river view room at the highest level available for the best stay. Overall a reasonable option . If your budget can stretch further go up the hill a little geographically and budget wise.

WiFi during our stay was consistent throughout the property so I would expect that to be the case.
As for hair dryers, that, too, should be no problem.
Our visit was during the early spring so no need for A/c, but I believe that each of the rooms is equipped with air conditioning. You could message them directly for more details.
There are more places to choose from in the Istanbul area.
