First of all I would like to say thank you to the all team from the Amira Hotel! We had an amazing time in this hotel! The service was superb from the beginning till the end. My husband and me definitely felt looked after by the team, they made our time in Instanbul even more enjoyable. The hotel itself is...

Having just come back from 2 nights in Istanbul, for the first time in my life I feel compelled to write a review. Hotel Amira was truly fantastic in every respect. I'd like to recommend it to anyone, young and old and have come away planning to go back. I believe this speaks volumes for itself. We were greeted by...

We just returned from Istanbul and wanted to report that the Amira is a true boutique hotel. When we arrived Arthur immediately took us downstairs to the lovely restaurant area and helped us to plan our stay in Istanbul. After two days at the Amira you feel like you are at home, with a warm and welcoming staff, a delightful...

This hotel lived up to the excellent TripAdvisor ratings with one possible exception. Some rooms do not have elevator service. They have a circular staircase that is difficult for some seniors or others. I ended up in a doctors office as the result of climbing those stairs too many times.

Our taxi had just pulled up when the bellman came to collect our luggage. Tina was at the desk welcoming us & taking care of our check in. She asked if we had time for a drink...said she'd like to buy us one & tell us about the city since it was our first trip to Istanbul. We went downstairs...

Like so many others I chose Hotel Amira based on TripAdvisor reviews, and I was not disappointed. This hotel is all about genuinely friendly staff and service, with some nice extra touches like complimentary afternoon tea with a generous selection of cakes and sandwiches. They even brought me a complimentary cup of tea while I was enjoying the sunset from...

It is not very often that you come across a hotel in any part of the world that is able to tick so many boxes. I stayed at the Amira for four nights, part of a tour group, and the welcome we received along with the service was faultless throughout our stay. From the moment we arrived till the moment...

Amira is a great hotel. The location is central yet you can get a peaceful night's sleep. The rooms are great with an interesting design. We had the junior suite and the extra space was welcome. The balcony was a nice touch. ** Breakfast was the best we'd had in a while. It wasn't that the selection was huge, but...

Simply one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The position is great in the old city, walking with 5 mins to the blue mosque Rooms are clean and bright and well serviced, but the most outstanding part is the truly outstanding service and friendliness of the staff, just nothing is a problem for them. I have stayed...

I can not rave enough about this hotel. I was travelling alone and it was my first time in Istanbul. I was picked up from the airport and greeted by Emre and his staff who treated me like one of the family through out my stay in Istanbul. I had a huge room with a bath/spa and my own terrace...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
