Detailed Reviews
We loved this hotel - a great, comfortable, clean and enjoyable experience and a great little oasis away from the crowds and streets of Istanbul. It was great to return to this hotel each day after exploring the city and sitting by the pool and relaxing. The rooms were very comfortable, the wifi was strong, the location was really close to the old town and all the major sites and the hotel was really beautifully kept and maintained. A great location and easy to walk to restaurants and shops and the mosques and sites of Istanbul. Breakfast is typically Turkish and don't expect too much but the staff are lovely and we had a GORGEOUS lady serving us every day and looking after us by the lounges by the pool bringing us Turkish tea and chatting to us and giving tips. She deserves a call out ( i'm sorry we don't recall her name).
The pool is lovely, but there's not many daybeds around the pool nor much space, so be warned, but it's still nice to come back to a fresh dip after a hot day site-seeing, even if the pool isn't heated ( chilly!).
For international guests - there's no English TV - not that we go on holidays to watch tv, but when you've got jetlag, arriving from Australia and have been site-seeing all day, it is nice to come back to the hotel room, put the air-con on, and watch a bit of TV to relax. Only bloomberg news.....
The only other thing is that the evening/afternoon manager who originally checked us in was all friendly and lovely and pushing tours and packages and site-seeing tours on us... even telling us he's learning to be a tour-guide... and after we said no thanks, he wouldn't even acknowledge us or look at us, and literally walked past us each day and ignored us. Rather rude. The other, older gentleman night manager was fantastic, very courteous and helpful and pleasant in every interaction - so it's a shame that the first evening/afternoon manager has such poor people/guest skills and lets the team down by ignoring guests and not even smiling at us every time he walked past because we didn't do one of his expensive tours. I had read other reviews that the hotel staff ignores you if you don't book spas, tours and other through them... so perhaps this is why?

Had a great time. Perfect location. The styling and art gave a old world feeling that is a good change of pace from most hotels. My room was clean and everything worked. The breakfast was fresh and Ekram was an excellent server.

Very nice place. We stayed at the annex section. Was cheaper and no view .
All the staff were friendly , very nice looking place. We did not have breakfast included and when we checked at twenty five Euros per person, we decided to skip it and use the refrigerator and coffee maker in the room

The hotel’s staff, led by the exceptional Mr. Can, is the epitome of excellence, combining professionalism with a warm and friendly demeanor that immediately makes guests feel welcome. The breakfast offered is a culinary delight, featuring a wide array of choices to suit every palate, and it’s complemented by the meticulously maintained cleanliness of the dining area and rooms, ensuring a pleasant start to the day.
Strategically located, the hotel offers the perfect starting point for exploring the city’s major monuments, all within comfortable walking distance. The rooms themselves are a sanctuary of comfort: spotlessly clean, elegantly decorated, and designed with comfort in mind, they provide a serene retreat after a day of sightseeing.

We chose this hotel due to its location in old city near the main sites, the pool, and the reviews. When we first arrived, the night manager offered complimentary drinks, then spent 15-20 min trying to sell us on a Dervish dance only available Saturday when we already had made dinner plans. We found out later they had the dance on Sundays. The hotel is in dire need of maintenance and repair. The rooms look nice on the websites, but in fact are quite old. You need to physically pull out to the shower drain to drain the water. We had a cup that held toothbrushes whiched was chipped broken. The tub had mold around it. The lights were too dim and one light was flickering. The minibar fridge barely cooled any drinks. The trashcan lid did not even cover the trashcan. The food was okay. The kitchen staff was quite friendly. The pool was okay nothing spectacular. the mirror TV while interesting, did not have too many English channels, but a lot of Russian ones. The hotel is a 10-15 minute walk to the major sites and is right next to the Sea of Marmara. Surrounding buildings are falling apart with some having broken windows. I did not try the dinner as I did not see too many people eat dinner at the hotel. Next time, I would choose a nicer, more modern hotel north of the old city.

Lovely location - it is good to be just that little bit away from the craziness of Sultanahmet ... gracious staff (although one of the reception guy was a bit full on re: answering questions like "how do we catch the ferry" with "we have a boat you can charter for $$$$$$$$$$$$$" so that could have been a bit more discrete but hey, its Turkey.
Loved the size of the room (junior suite), big shower, very comfy bed, and neat view to the water over the next door ruins. Also loved the ceiling in our room. Breakfast provided lots of Turkish options (7 kinds of cheese, 4 types of olives at least), endless filo type pastries. And there was a night of Turkish dancing which was compelling if slightly miltaristic.
Staff in the restaurant were really great ... helpful, informative and one read my coffee grinds!
Only downside is that the acoustics aren't great. We could hear through to the next room occaisionally and any noise in the hall. We were putting a towel at the base of our door to reduce noise. We were also on a top floor and would strongly suggest that.
Would stay again for sure as in a great position for accessing sites and some off the beaten track restaurants.

The hotel is a charming, peaceful oasis in a delightful spot on the coast road looking out onto the Sea of Marmara. The endless attractions of Old Istanbul: the Blue Mosque, Aya Sofya, Yerabatan Sarnici, Topkapi Palace and so on are within easy walking distance. On the walk up to Sultanahmet, you can wander around the backstreets behind the hotel and explore the back alleys populated by friendly cats, equally approachable local shopkeepers and some excellent restaurants.
Very clean, comfortable and well-serviced rooms, though perhaps some of the decor might be slightly kitsch for the tastes of some. The staff were all extremely hospitable and friendly throughout, especially at breakfast time, always attentive to everyone's needs. The breakfast itself comprised a wide selection of everything you might expect, with hot drinks hand-delivered from the bar.
Just one small, easily fixed issue: the floor in the wetroom was quite slippery. I would hate for anyone to have their stay ruined by an injury.

The location of this hotel is excellent for touring all the major sites in Sultanahmet such as the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, the Grand Bazaar, Islamic Art museum, etc.
I did not like the first choice of rooms we were given in the main building and so the reception staff kindly upgraded us to two much better rooms, in a building adjacent to the main one. In fact, I would like to make special mention of Mr. Seckin at the reception desk who went out of his way, every day of our 6 day stay, to ensure that we had a very pleasant and enjoyable stay and also provided some very good restaurant recommendations. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean and had a good range of toiletries.
However, the buffet breakfast was not very imaginative and the various dishes lacked flavour; moreover, the grilled vegetables and other hot side dishes were either cold or lukewarm. However, when I complained the food was properly heated the following days. Unfortunately the hotel also did not serve fresh orange juice nor did it have an omelet corner as part of the buffet, one had to pay extra.
We did enjoy dinner one evening in the hotel restaurant and especially the Turkish dishes, Iskender and Knafeh. Unfortunately we never had time to try out the spa and it was too cold to use the outdoor swimming pool. I would return to this hotel because of the excellent service provided at the reception desk and its location.

Our small group of six recently stayed at the hotel for several days. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay made all the more so by Erhan and his friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is in an ideal location overlooking the confluence of the Golden Horn, the Sea of Marmara, and the Bosporus which may be enjoyed from the rooftop with a drink.
The hotel is a group of three annexes, a restaurant, and of course Spa all surrounding a pool. There is a feeling of calm within, but so close to all that is special to the “Old City” sites just a short walk up the hill. Breakfast, in reality a generous brunch, is a collection of Turkish mezzes, coffees, juices, and Western style fare. The hotels style is reminiscent of Ottoman days with modern convenience, large rooms with balcony doors and comfortable accommodation.
Erhan helped us set up private guided tours , including a sunset yacht cruise of the Bosphorus. knowledgeable licensed guides who knew their stuff. In fact, one of our guides took us to lunch at a small local place in what turned out to be one of the best dining experiences of our entire two-week tour.
Every aspect of Seven Hill Palace Hotel and Spa was 5 Star and would be 6 if that was a choice. This place is a special, so get a reservation early and ask them to help plan your visit to Istanbul.

A magnificent hotel, the rooms are tastefully decorated. Free Turkish bath for 30 minutes is included in the room price. The location of the hotel is within walking distance of all historical places and museums, but you will not want to leave the hotel as the hotel is decorated like an art gallery. It is possible to taste many delicious and satisfying Turkish delicacies at breakfast. the staff is very courteous and helpful. especially Ali and Gürkan are very interested. I will definitely come again. I would definitely recommend, a real palace experience in Istanbul

The restaurant was closed in October when I was there. However, they have a sister hotel with a lovely restaurant (superb view) and a free shuttle to get you there.
