This was our first trip to Istanbul and we would highly recommend the Sultania. The location couldn't be better. It's just one road in from the tram line and a short walk to the Bosphorous ferries and the Blue Mosque. There are also plenty of dining options in the immediate area.

Our room itself - and the rest of the... More

We're just finishing off a week here and it's been great. Huge room (1504), comfortable bed, great breakfast..but this place has so much more to offer. It's in a central location, a short walk to all the key sights and the tram to those further away. It's got some great restaurants nearby ( and one not so good one we... More

We stayed her for a short get away from NYC and loved it. The room was very romantic and sultry and we had a great time. The staff was pleasant and very helpful. For my first trip to Istanbul, Hotel Sultania proved to be a perfect choice. The location was ideal - close walking distance (within a two a minute walk) from the tram station, making for easy access to major sites (Blue Mosque, Aya Sofya and the Grand Bazaar), and many bars and restaurants in the adjacent street. Reception, concierge and restauant... More

The Sultania hotel is perfect. The rooms have a very beautiful design, inspired to the wives of Sultan. In the rooms there are every confort you can imagine. The staff is very kind and helpful. Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
