Perfect location. Good breakfast. Very friendly and helpful employees, specially Mr.Erdal, Mr,Süleyman and the housekeeping lady. No fancy place at all but simple and clean. You arrive and feel at home. Anytime again :-)

The worst place and hotel!! No window in the room, no fresh air. You can catch any breath disease here, we moved out second night. You can hear all neighbors, but the worst is about no ventilation. Our friends were with kid, it got sick on the second day because of lack of fresh air

Best location, very near to tourist spots mostly walking distance. We even walk from the hotel to Blue Mosque, Haya Sophia way down to Eminonu Pier for the Bosphorous cruise. We just got lost when returning to the hotel nonetheless it was good stay in Hotel California. And the receptionist was very kind to us and helpful in giving direction...

Service was good, room was comfortable but breakfast menu was a bit boring. Same menu everyday. Location is great as it just 2 mins away from Chamberlitas tram station and 5 minutes from Grand Bazaar. Dont mind to return to the hotel again. It's not like the Hotel California described by the Eagles ;)

It's a good budget accommodation (well, budget for Istanbul standards) but it's not a place you are likely to remember for long. We managed to negotiate the price down from 50 to 40 TL per person but they did not agree for us to extend our stay at the same rate so we switched the hotel and did not regret...

I was in Istanbul some years ago and stayed in this hotel: {'California" ]for a week.It is situated in the very heart of the city in the European part. It is a decent, economy class hotel. The advantage of it is it's situation, close to all most important and beautiful sights. They are only some " steps "aside..You can even walk there/. It...

We spent two weeks at the Hotel California. Clean comfortable rooms and very helpful staff. We would definately return to this hotel for another visit.Modern facilities. We were there in very cold weather and there was always lots of heat and hot water. Arthur and Linda

With a lyrical name like, the Hotel California, I really didn't know what to expect upon checking into the hotel. Somehow, I thought I might encounter some leftover hippies from the 70's running a flop house. I was very pleasantly surprised. A brief word of advice, when visiting Istanbul, all you want is clean safe place to lay your head...

We got a room that has a "window" without a view. The window opens into a ventilation shaft. The air conditioning is (as usual with many hotels) covered in dust and mould because they never clean the AC unit, and the room is hot. The refrigerator is not an ordinary refrigerator but a peltier-element one which is highly efficent. I...

I spent 4 nights in this hotel around New Year's eve 2010 - 2011 with some friends. We knew we were opting for a basic hotel and we were not disappointed at all: the location is great to walk around the city and the room was big value for money (altough we had a triple room even if we were...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
