I stayed here for a short stay in Istanbul and enjoyed it. The hotel is clean and very well priced. The location is good as it is walking distance to the Grand Bazaar, Blue Mosque, and Hippodrome. The staff was nice and very helpful. Conversely, the rooms are small. The rooms are also very dark but I think that is...

45 lira from the airport was good although the train from airport is available with only one change. Public transport to the shopping areas of Istanbul . Take train across water, get off walk two blocks and up the tram to shopping heaven. Walk to the largest shopping mall the other way

Staying at Hypnos was a great way to start our holiday. The staff were very friendly and always helpful. The location was great; only a short walk to all the attractions. Beautiful rooms - all with different themes. And the restaurant in the hotel served tasty food!

The hotel is cute, the rooms are small and some things may be broken or not perfect, but the service is friendly and accomodating (if you are friendly to them first). The location is simply perfect. One minuted from Gülhane park and tram station and 10 mins walk to all the sights (Blue Mosque, Haghia Sofya, Topkapi Palace). 15 minutes...

Quirky hotel with 11 different themed rooms. We took a cab from the airport and it cost us just over 45TL but if you wanted to save money and take public transport then it is located within an extremely short walk from Gülhane tram stop. Breakfast was ordered from the menu rather than a buffet and there were plenty of...

I cannot recommend The Hypnos strongly enough; the staff are super friendly, extremely helpful and it was a genuine pleasure to stay there. We were in room 55 (Gypsy) and it was superb. The location was brilliant we could walk everywhere within 10-15 minutes and we saw all the sites we wanted to in the 4 days we were there....

We stayed for 4 nights and the hotel was great. Location: close to Hagia Sophia; Breakfast was fantastic, so much better than buffet breakfasts. We stayed in the Turkish movies room and it was very cosy & chic.

We were so happy we chose this for our honeymoon. The location was key! It was walking distance to everything! All major sites and the area was fun to explore back streets. Our room was small but excellent. Hot shower with color changing lights was so cool. Bed very comfortable and ample to eat and choose from for breakfast. Very...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
