Stayed at this hotel for 10 days and must say haven't had any problems whatsoever. The staff and management are very helpful and welcoming and even though many can't speak very good English, they tried their best to answer any of my queries. The rooms are clean and tidy and I think it is very good value for money accommodation....

We only stayed one night in this little hotel in the old parts of town. The room was ok for hotels in Istanbul with working aircon and a good bed and nice bathroom. The staff in the reception were two youngsters, who were green but very friendly and helpful. This isn't a luxury hotel, but very good value for the...

I visited Istanbul with my boyfriend for 4 nights at the end of May and we both very much enjoyed our stay at the Magnificent hotel. It is a small hotel, but seems quite spacious compared to the other shops and spaces in Sultanahmet, which we thought was a great place to stay since there is much more to do...

We stayed at Hotel Magnificent in Sultanahment, Istanbul for two nights and we had pretty good time. Cons: 1. The receptionist and hotel management spoke very little English which made it difficult to get help in navigating the city or any specific requests we had. 2. The hotel was very difficult to find in the maze of sultanahmet for us...

We had booked this place seven months ago. Chosen a low floor room because of my mobility. Very disappointed to find they had put us in the attic. No amount of arguing would change it as hotel full. We were originally there for two days but dropped to one as we were arriving so late in theorning. Seems that's were...

I stayed here in March 2013 for one night. It was pretty low-grade and after having stayed in many other hotels in the area over the years, by far the worst. In addition to the seedy location and burdensome stairwell, they had real trouble during check-in and check-out - shouldn't be as long and difficult as it was. This is...

Very nice newly renovated building in Sultanahmet, Istanbul. Helpful friendly staff, good breakfast on the roof terrace with a lovely view of the old part of town. No lift in the hotel, and narrow spiral staircase to the top floor, so getting suitcases up and down is tricky. Turkey, specifically are very eco-concious and have sensors on all the lights...

We were not expecting too much from this hotel. For 54€ a night (cheap) only three minutes walk from the Hippodrome (Blue Mosque etc) and all the sights you don't. When we arrived we were told that they had to change our room, and that we would now be given the terrace room Ok we thought, turned out to be...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
