Stayed at this hotel from 31st May - 03 June 2013. Very nice little hotel, clean comfortable rooms with good air con, excellent location, handy for all the major sights (Blue Mosque, Aya Sofya, Grand Bazaar) and easy tram and taxi access to Galata and Taksim. Would highly recommend this place

We spent one night at the hotel last week. We found the hotel easy to find, located to the old city. The room was quite small, the walls were very thin but the hotel was very clean, the service at the reception was correct. The breakfast was nice. If you want to use the facilities it is not include in...

I do not know who anointed this hotel with four stars; but, they are wrong based on my travel experience. My expectations were high based on what I read and saw on this hotel's website; but, in reality things were quite different than the pictures presented. The hotel room was small, basic, and I cannot begin to imagine two people...

When i booked this accommodation during my search on Expedia it seemed very cheap in price and heavily priced according to the images uploaded on the website, it seemed royal and 5 star service. The moment we arrived the staff were very unhelpful and it was a disgrace. So i urge everybody please dont go by the images please!!! Its...

The room is standard. Nothing fancy. Decoration and structure are quite clumsy for a triple room. There was no bottle water provided. The toilet is kind of small. Breakfast was so-so. The food isn't delicious as they advertised on their homepage at least. But the staff are RUDE. From the manager to the waitress serving you breakfast. NEVER change money...

I spent three nights recently at the Tilia and would like to weigh in. Although, Expedia indicates that the hotel is in the "Grand Bazaar" area, after having visited Istanbul and now know the city a bit, that statement is a stretch. Yes, the hotel is located two or three tram stations away from it but is hardly super close...

Staying in Grand Bazaar

Neighbourhood Profile
Grand Bazaar
Tourists, hawkers, and locals come together at the Grand Bazaar to comb its labyrinthine passageways in search of a bargain – be it a pair of brand name jeans, a handcrafted silk rug, or a perfectly brewed cup of tea. Outside the vast bazaar, worn, narrow streets wind their way down from its lofty perch to the southern shore of the Golden Horn, where the evocatively aromatic Spice Bazaar beckons alongside the elegant New Mosque (opened in 1665). Nearby, the famed Galata Bridge offers pedestrian access to urban delights across the river in Istanbul’s more residential and contemporary neighbourhoods, while the must-see sights of Sultanahmet are but a leisurely stroll away.
