We, (my mother, my wife and I) stayed 5 days at the Minel hotel. It is a little (10 rooms) very nice hotel in a small quiet street very near of Topkapi palace and Hagea Sophia. The rooms are clean, very nice, cosy furnished and not very spacy but I have to say that the size of the rooms is...

My comments reflect many of the others here. The hotel is tucked away off a little lane and if you walked by it accidentally, you'd never know it was a hotel. The staff were absolutely amazing and friendly, and some of the highlights from our trip was chatting with other guests and the staff over tea late at night. It...

though the triple room we stayed in for five nights earlier this month (may) was small by any standards, we found it comfortable because of maximum utilisation of space, attention to the smallest detail in its design, and the privacy it provided for the third person in the room. the breakfasts were a treat and feisty maria added to the...

This hotel is located in the heart of Sultanahmet. If you do not mind using stairs to reach your room, this is probably the best solution you will find with this budget. Personnel is very kind and try to provide you what your need. Super comfortable beds. The lady preparing breakfast makes your day start with a smile as she...

This clean boutique hotel is located in the perfect area of istanbul...close to the Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sophia, and great restaurants in the Sultanahmet neighborhood. The rooms are small but sparkling clean, and breakfast each morning is delicious and hand made. This hotel is definitely a great deal - it was the cheapest hotel by far on our trip but...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
