The hotel is in a nice location very close to the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia. I also liked that it is not on a main street so therefore pretty quiet. Our room was a good size, enough room for us and our luggage. It was also very clean. The best part was the staff - very welcoming, attentive,...

Great location if you're going to see the standard sights. We walked everywhere we went, the Blue Mosque, Aya Sophia, a Turkish Bath, the Grand Bazaar, the spice market, and more. I travelled with two friends and stayed in a triple room. A bit small, but not too small for comfort. We were only there to sleep anyway. The hospitality...

Mehmed and Gonul were wonderful hosts, welcoming me into their hotel with hot tea and freshly cooked chicken. The location is prime, the rooms are pristine and modern, and the breakfast is to die for. Highly recommended accommodation in Istanbul and well worth the price! Thank you for being such lovely and accommodating hosts :)

I have travelled a lot through all the world, and I have to say that as well as I have been in Minel hotel, I haven't been in anywhere else. People working there are the nicest people ever, and you can feel there like if you were at home. Although bedrooms are not very big (and I think this is...

If you're planning a trip to Istanbul, here's my suggestion: Chose Minel Hotel! It's a small and familiar hotel, rooms are not too big but with an excelent equipment and cleanliness. The staff (all of them) are more than friendly, helpful, kind, professional... If I have to be honest, the staff is the best value of Minel Hotel! They'll make...

In a few words: this hotel has everything I desire in his price class; it has: - Very good location close to the blue mosquee and the palace yet a quiet place, - New and really clean, - easy to reach with street-car but not on the main street, - Also good breakfast, - and, very important, nice staff, they...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
