We stayed at Minel for about a week and it was great. Staff were amazing, they were so friendly and willing to help with any request. Rooms were really clean, bed was comfortable and I loved the gozleme for breakfast. The location was alos great, easy walk to all the main attractions in Sultanahmet. I would definitely recommend this place,...

We stayed at Minel for five days and it was absolutely pleasant. Firstly, the location is fantastic- it is so close to all of the things you want to see. The rooms are very affordable, as well as clean and tidy. But the thing that sells the place is the staff! They offered us suggestions on what to see and...

We stayed for two evenings at this wonderful little boutique hotel. First, the location is excellent - walking distance to all the major sites, but tucked away in the back of a street so it's nice and quiet in the evening to get a good night's rest. Second, the breakfast is really tasty and healthy. Third, the rooms were very nice...

Loved: Hotel is very new (opened May this year) and as such, towels are still plush, comforters are still billowy. Good a/c and heater. Good water pressure for shower. Breakfast is good and filled you up for the morning. With only 9 rooms, it felt like you were staying at a posh friend's guestroom (which was great and I looked...

Friendly staff. Very good location close to main sights on quiet street. Tastefully furnished compact, clean and comfortable rooms and bathrooms. Great breakfast, one of the best we've had with excellent fresh fruit, cheese, eggs, jams and homemade breads. Only one minor caveat for people who have mobility problems as there is no lift.

Great hotel staff. Always friendly and helpful. Nice and plentiful breakfast with the best figs I have ever eaten. The hotel is hidden away on a quiet side street, but within 10 minutes walk to the Topkapi, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque and the Bazaar. Nice and clean room with a good shower and air condition. We will be staying there...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
