Stayed at this hotel with a group. Had a great breakfast with a lot of variety. Nice clean rooms, with the best shower EVER! Very close to Old City sites. My room overlooked the Hagia Sophia. Excellent restaurant next door, Han Terrace/Barbecue House.

We had an overnight stay in Istanbul before joining a cruise. Hagia Sophia Old City Hotel was ideal for our purpose. As its name suggests, it is right by Hagia Sophia as well as the Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern and Topkapi Palace. We used a pre-booked transfer from the airport with Efendi Travel; a bargain at €25 for 4 of...

Walking distance to the historical sites, the grand bazaar, restaurants, etc. We were able to go for a few minutes to the grand baazar to see something, check the lines in the blue mosque before entering. The location is fantastic and the hotel and rooms are recently renewed. Strongly recommended

I had my wedding ceremony there and they were helpful cooperative and kind. The whole staff from the first level up to the General Manager were all cheerful and easy to deal with. They serve the best menu and food, with reasonable prices. Not to mention the great location and amazing view of the hotel and restaurant. Thank you all...

The Boutique Sophia welcomed us with early check-in and because of its location we were able to visit Haga Sophia and Topkapi Palace in one day and walk to the Grand Bazaar the next morning for a couple of hours before boarding ship. BTW, the hotel is across from the exit of the Cisterns! This was an ideal location further...

As others have stated this hotel is so well located, that that alone is reason to stay here. Added to that its a great hotel. Our room was 1305 and we had an excellent view of the Hagia Sophia. The view was so good and the Internet so strong we FaceTimed our daughter in Vancouver so she could see the...

The best thing about this hotel is it's location, as a tourist you couldn't be better placed to visit the major sites in Sultanahmet most are only a 5 or 10 minute walk away. If you are visiting the Hagia Sophia Museum or the Topkapi Palace I would advise that you arrive between 8.30 and 8.45 to be near the...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
