This hotel and the staff cannot be trusted. Not only are the rooms unclean and the extremely cold on a winter night (they keep the windows open all day before guests take the room) but they claim to give you a room in the main building then force you to stay in the older building next door where the rooms...

My friends booked this hotel for the view over the bridge, but when we got there the only view was the wall of the building next you :) the pictures from their website are not the same with reality. As I've said, if you need something cheap, this will do.

There's not much to say about this "hotel". Basicaly the "hotel" for backpackers, who don't expect much from the accomodation - related to cleanliness, quietness and hospitality. We travelled as a group of friends ( few couples included ). Eventhough our names were recorded as first, we got the room as last, which would be fine, unless the "manager" realised,...

To be honest the hotel seems cute ...but I wouldn't know for sure because they send me to sleep in some place which by the way was terrible! So I booked for the Bridge Hotel, I slept in another building about 10 minutes walking distance, had breakfast in another building (somewhere in the middle) and payed in The Bridge Hotel....

It was literally the worst hotel I have ever slept. I do not recommend this to anyone! When we arrived they did not want our passports and required us to pay in cash, of course, we did not get confirmation of payment (at this point we were too tired to notice this, we only wanted to go to sleep). Then...

This is the place where I was severely cheated, I do not recommend this to anyone. We came to this hotel by mistake, as I was so tired I did not notice any name of the place, but I shown them my reservation comfirmation. Guy at reception haven't told me anything, that this is not the place you reserved. Instead,...

All of our negative experiences has been described in earlier posts. Dirty rooms, horrible buildings When arrived, the receptionist required us to pay the full payment in cash up front. Then she walked us to another disgusting building few blocks away. "Room", which was actually a basement of a flat apartment, was smelling so unbelievably bad. Furniture was partly broken...

The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. They are not good at responding to emails, I think because of the language barrier. It surprised me how many Turkish people do not speak English but oh well I was in a foreign country. The price was right, it was only $50 USD to stay at a quiet, clean hotel. I think...

Going by the pictures and description of a boutique it looked good and the price was reasonable but in reality it was nothing like described, we wernt greeted when we arrived my name was just bellowed out from a withered troll like man hunched over a battered desk who then shoved a piece off paper in front off me and...

Staying in Besiktas

Neighbourhood Profile
Besiktas
In Besiktas, skyscrapers compete with palaces for space in an upscale vista replete with hilly green parkland filling in the margins. Step into this rather wealthy neighbourhood and discover a rich mix of opportunities to shop, dine, and be entertained. For folks in search of urban buzz, not to mention a constant reminder of just how important Istanbul’s waterways are to its rich history, there's the frenetic Besiktas ferry terminal or the city’s most vibrant fish market to explore. For a timeout of metropolitan proportions, head to the bucolic Yildiz Park or the chic Bosphorus-side fishing village of Ortakoy. Attractions such as the grandiose Dolmabahce Palace and a bevy of other stately residences await admiration. To be sure, this large and not overly touristy swath of Istanbul yields plenty of pleasure for all.
