Former prison of Istanbul the Istanbul Four Season is a very nice hotel. The position is excellent, breakfast huge and varied, it offers silent, secluded rooms, make you living in a luxury atmosphere near Santa Sophia mosque. From there you can easily visit and sightseeing the city centre

The staff is so nice, the place is magic. When I walk in, I walk on clouds. You have to see it, this building was a jail house, now it is a gorgeous oasis. Walk in and just sit down for a drink or some food, as a start. From the wine list to the menu, you won't resist, the...

Even if you are not staying at this hotel, you must visit it. Last week, whilst in Istanbul, my husband and I called in for tea. It was only a glass of chai we had but we were still provided with the best service imaginable. While we were enjoying that, I spotted a Degustation Menu. It sounded superb and at...

Can't say enough good things about the hotel, location and the staff. We were a group of 12 and everyone felt that the hotel was almost near perfect. There were some very minor quirks however those weren't even a bother. Highly recommended and the location is simply superb. Hagia Sophia could be seen from my room's window and it was...

The hotel is located about a 3 minute walk from the Hagia Sofia / Blue Mosque area. We had a room with a view of Hagia Sophia. Restaurants aren't good in the area but the food at the 4S is VERY good. We had breakfast there every morning and room service once. The hotel is beautiful and staff is well...

This hotel is perfectly located to see all the important sites. It is right next to Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia. The Topkapi Palace and the Basilica Cisterns is about 10 min walk away. The service and attention to detail is absolutely fantastic. The friendly staff makes the stay feel as if you are at home. This is a...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
