And so my two week stay in Istanbul is sadly drawing to a close and it's time to write a little about the Celal Sultan Hotel. For the first week I stayed in a premium room, after which I upgraded to their suite, so those are the only rooms with which I can address. The premium room was more than... More

We are about to spend our 4 night here. The hotel is brilliantly located for all the major attractions of old Istanbul. The rooms are light, our twin share had enough space for my father and I. The bathroom was clean good hot water and water pressure and the lift worked. The breakfast buffet is plentiful and varied and the... More

Second time staying here and it was better than the first. Friendly staff, immaculate cleanliness and close to the historical places. We were only a five minute walk from Hagia Sophia and Topkapi palace.

I loved staying here; in the heart of Istanbul...The rooms are clean, safe, and spacious. The breakfast buffet is outstanding and has the best fruit anywhere in the world. I loved sitting on the patio upstairs. You easily stroll thru the streets and head down toward the Blue Mosque and sit by the fountains... The staff here was amazing as... More

Excellent location in Sultenahmet to access all major attractions as well as the tramway. The room was comfortable, breakfast was varied and offered something for everyone and the hotel was spotlessly clean. In addition, the staff were friendly and helpful -particularly Suleiman. We really enjoyed our stay.

Recommended to us, and cannot find a fault with this hotel. It met all our expectations. Pleasant room with all usual facilities, walking distance to all sites and restaurants in Sultanahmet district. Staff were pleasant and helpful, very good breakfast to start the day.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
