Definitely, the best possible location you could wish for in the old part of Istanbul's Sultanahmet area. In the proximity key of the coveted Sultanahmet Four Seasons Hotel, this unique period architecture hotel in the Ottomoan style is within walking distance of the famous Mosaic Museum, Blue Mosque and wonderful ottoman bazarr luring in visitors from all over the world...

Location very good for main tourist sites.Agree with other reviewers that the hamman style shower was a bit of a squeeze especially for my tall partner.Breakfast buffet was adequate but the coffee in the machine was not very good .You were able to buy a fresh espresso.Staff were helpful when approached but the ambience was not especially warm or welcoming.Room...

The best thing about this hotel is its location very near the Blue Mosque. The rooms are attractive although hamam style bathrooms are a tight squeeze. They have wifi (a bit slow) tea making facilities and tv. There is a lovely terrace at the back where breakfast and drinks can be served and a pleasant courtyard at the front facing...

Checked in after noon, but room wasn't ready. Fair enough, but Hmm #1 given that it was clear that there was no way the hotel was sold out. Staff suggested we have a tea or a cup of coffee at the terrace restaurant while they got our room ready, just as soon as possible. Ordered an ice coffee on the...

This hotel was very comfortable to stay in, and the best thing about it is that it's located in the ideal location, close to the main sites. It also has beautiful grounds and lovely view off the outside back porch where you can watch the sunset.

This place was like an oasis in the hubbub of Istanbul. In the middle of everything, but without the noise and crowds. Breakfast is on the patio, with a beautiful view of the Bosporus. Typical Turkish breakfast with some nods to Western preferences. It's hard to improve on fresh pomegranate juice, tomatoes, cucumber, three kinds of bread, three kinds of...

We enjoyed staying in the palace quite a lot. It was - in spite of his great spot - a quiet and almost hidden gem with few rooms and almost invisible or better reduced to the necessary service. No distortions or dozens of people running wildly around but still everything was done in a quiet and helpful way. Rooms very...

Apologies for late review having stayed there in July 2014 but such a good hotel deserves a review. Met on time at the Airport by the hotels own shuttle bus. The hotel was entrancing from the first view unloading the bags, though the tranquil fountained courtyard. Our room was lovely and cool, super clean and well stocked and double glazed (very...

Wonderful location; right in the heart of the old city. Short walk to many great restaurants, and the Hippodrome area. Walking distance to tram stop near Hagi Sophia. Rooms are great, good view of the blue mosque. Roof top dining with view of the Bosporus. Staff very helpful

Great location for touring the old town. Close to the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. Nice breakfast restaurant behind the main building with a lovely view. Our room was quaint with a very small bathroom.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
