Armada Hotel in the Old City of Istanbul is at a walking distance of all the spots in town. The staff is friendly, smiling and always ready to help you in all what you want; whether it be a place to visit, a destination to go to or simply a room service, trust me it won't take less than a...

My wife and I loved the hand-painted panels in our room. Another memorable moment was shortly after we arrived. We went to the Terrace Restaurant on the roof of the Armada. The Blue Mosque was illuminated, the Marmara Sea was shining under a crescent moon, and we heard the call to prayer from the minarets. This was a memory we...

Stayed here for a wedding for 3 nights in early October. Here's the summary: The good: - location: close to the water, Blue Mosque, hippodrome, cistern and Aya Sophia - nice/helpful lobby (front desk) staff - GREAT roof-top terrace - excellent breakfast (except coffee -- it really sucked! No turkish cofee...) - my room opened up on an elevated garden...

We stayed with our tour group of 16 in this charming boutique like well located Istanbul hotel, across from the Mara sea and within walking distance to great restaurants and all the major tourist sites. The room, though somewhat small and spartan were very clean. The extravagant, Turkish breakfast each morning was wonderful, enhanced by the ambiance of the setting,...

A little bit far from ultanahmet station to the hotel, some up and downs as it is located in old historical place, it is located along seaside. Very calm and warm atmosphere. Room is clean, no bath tub. Breakfast at terrace with perfect view of sea, Sulhanahment camii and Aya-sophia. Very reasonable price at August. I will surely come back...

Charming, comfortable hotel. Rooms were well decorated and cozy. We liked the roof restaurant for the view. The breakfasts were very good as was the dinner we had there. The neighborhood below the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia is developing into an interesting area for shops, restaurants, and small hotels.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Armada in June. The lobby is beautifully decorated and welcoming - loved the turtle pool! The staff were courteous and efficient. My room was well appointed with a well stocked bathroom - olive oil soap and bathrobes. The bed was comfortable and the linen was luxurious. Complimentary bookmarks and Time Out Istanbul magazine much...

Without any doubt I classify this hotel as one of the best I have visited the last few years. With a splendid view from the terrace you see and experience the character of Istanbul. Within a few minutes you can walk from the hotel to some major events.

We loved staying in the Armanda Hotel. It was witin walking distance of the sites we wanted to see. The hotel is modern and the service is great, with the internet. in the rooms. The food was delicious and the open air restaurant had spectacular views of Istanbul and especially St. Sophia. We enjoyed watching the frogs in the lobby...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
