My husband and I got married in December but we wanted to do a wedding reception in Turkey since all our families are in Turkey. We choose Villa Bosphorus as our reception place and Bosphorus Palace Hotel as our two night stay before we depart for our Honeymoon in Maldives. Because my wedding reception was almost next door to this...

We stayed here for one Saturday night as the last day in our trip to Turkey. We had splurged a little more than we normally would on this as a luxury hotel and were deeply disappointed. This hotel was by a long shot the worst thing about our entire trip. When we arrived at about 6pm on Saturday evening, there...

Well taken care of at this beautiful, historic hotel. Wonderful location on the Bosphorus. Held a group meeting there with reps from around the world and all seemed to be very satisfied. Staff was very attentive.

Stayed at this gorgeous historic 'yali' for couple nights and we enjoyed every minute of it. I would recommend getting one of the corner rooms which gives the best views of this city as you wake up you feel like you are right on top of the Marmara Sea! We had the breakfast included in our deal and they had...

The building is a traditional luxury construction but the decor cheap imitations. The breakfast was of poor quality, and the service disaffected. You have to find the waiter to get a second cup of watery coffee. The slighty remote location is great for relaxation but would have been aided by a better atmosphere in the lounge area as the social...

Located directly on the Boshprus, the hotel offers wonderful views of both bridges and the European Side of Istanbul. You are able to walk to many of the restaurants along the water. The staff is very helpful and gracious. We enjoyed our breakfast buffet offering traditional Turkish foods. The tables are placed over partial glass tiles where the water appears...

Pros: - Nice building - Luckily, we got the room shown in the photographs and it was pleasant enough - The lady receptionist during the day was helpful and spoke decent English - Good selection of toileteries in the bathroom, but the cream wasn't great Cons: - The "Managing Director (on his business card) / Nightime receptionist" tried hard, but...

I read all TripAdvisor reviews before booking. I was ready for the best and worst ... And I fell in love with this hotel from the entrance, reception, my room , which ticks all the boxes. My room was # 27, overlooking the courtyard. Breakfast is ok, but they will happily make you eggs without any extra charge. Their generosity...

Rooms are nicely decorated. Feels like the rooms of 100 years ago. What they are lacking is a good service. Breakfast quality is very poor. To my view not anywhere close to what is expected from such a hotel.

Bosphorus Palace Hotel... It was a very nice place to stay with scenery of beautiful bosphorus. I had arranged this hotel to ask my girlfriend if she will marry me, and result was positive. You can watch bosphorus till morning instead of sleeping. From service and cleanliness point of view, it is extremely satisfied for us. As a result of...

Staying in Uskudar

Neighbourhood Profile
Uskudar
Home to more than half a million residents, Uskudar on the Asian side of the Bosphorus is one of Istanbul’s most densely populated neighbourhoods. Once a Greek colony, later a haven for people from across the Mediterranean and the Middle East, this gateway to Asia has been an active and diverse hub for eons. Still, visitors to Uskudar are often more overcome by its myriad treasures than by its many thousand residents. And with fairytale settings such as the “Maiden’s Tower” as well as grand examples of Ottoman Era architecture, plenty of parks, a gorgeous and lengthy coastline, and some of Turkey’s holiest sites, there’s no end to the sightseeing possibilities. Easily reached from the city’s European shores via a steady network of ferries, time spent in Uskudar reveals a “real life” Istanbul that many who experience find extremely fascinating.
