Alp hotel is my favorite hotel in Istanbul, very good located near to most important historical places in Istanbul: Topikapi palace, Bue Mosq, Hagia Sofia and etc. When you have your breakfast you can enjoy a view on the Bosphorus. And of course very friendly staff, thank you Mustafa, Herman, Selman and..I forgot he`s name. See you in next April!

Simple and well located in historical area ( Blue Mosque, Topkapi..). Only inconvenient is that Sulthanamet area is super touristic and for food/night life it is not ideal. You better stay in Galata/Beyoglu.

I stayed here with my brother and sister for two nights, and the staff here were incredibly welcoming and kind throughout our stay. From check in to check out, they were able to address our needs and questions and seemed genuinely enthusiastic about hosting us the entire time. This place feels like family, and I cannot recommend it highly enough....

I stayed here for three nights with two other people. The staff was very accommodating and nice. It was very low key which I love. The breakfast was simple but very good. The lady who was setting it up was extremely nice and was regularly baking something for the following morning after it was all set up. The roof deck...

Stayed here for 3 nights in September. Very friendly & helpful staff, and a fabulous roof terrace overlooking the Sea of Marmaris, for breakfast with lots of choice, (including omelettes made to order ). A lovely place to sit before venturing out to see all the sghts of Istanbul. The Alp is only a few minutes walk from all the...

Everything was just perfect! Warm atmosphere, like at home, like visiting friends in Istanbul. The staff was very friendly and always very helpful especially Mr. Selmane. Very recommended and hope to be back one day, for longer stay as 2 nights far not enough.

After traveling in Turkey for a month we returned to the Hotel Alp in Istanbul at the end of our trip. Alp was the best hotel we stayed in during our travels. It's in an attractive traditional Ottoman style small building, has tastefully decorated rooms, is very conveniently located to major sights and transportation, with helpful friendly staff, and serves...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.

“From the window of room 404 you can see the top of Hagia Sophia over the neighboring buildings. The floors are wooden, so upper levels can be quieter if you prefer not to hear people walking around.”
