It was my first visit to Istanbul, Turkey and I chose this hotel because of it`s dainty appearance, an attractive front and a clean facade on Google search.. After spending four days here, I also found that it is very conveniently located in the Sultanahmet area, a walking distance from most of the important tourist attractions like the Blue Mosque,...

The Hotel has a very attractive facade. At nights it looks even prettier! The Entrance Lobby is pretty. There is a sense of grandness with a magnificent luster hanging from the ceiling. The ceiling has been tastefully painted with the Armenesque motif so pervalent in Ispahan and some Ottoman Era buildings! Basically the hotel has the ambiance of a luxury...

I was in Istanbul for a Business Meeting and I chose Albatros Premier Hotel because a friend of mine told me of this nice Hotel. The location of the Hotel is really perfect, because you find yourself in the middle of the old Istanbul, exactly in the center of Istanbul. The Hotel Director Mr. Topcu was also very welcoming and...

We (me and my husband) went to Al-batros hotel on the 29th of Oct. and spent there 11 nights. At first we were given a double room which was relatively small with a very dirty sofa and a bag of garbage that they forgot to throw away in the bathroom?! I tried to rest on the bed to be shocked...

Just returned from 4 days in Istanbul and had a wonderful time. The hotel is ideally situated in walking distance of the main attractions. I was with my daughter and we felt safe walking back in the evening. The beds were extremely comfortable. There was a safe in the room, free to use. The shower was efficient but the surround...

Just returned from Istanbul and stayed for three nights at the Albatros which I found to be very clean and central for all the major attractions of Istanbul. The hotel has just been refurbished on the outside and looks very elegant. The breakfast room too has had a refit. It also has a lovely rooftop restaurant. I only had breakfast...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
