We spent 14 nights at this hotel and overall was very disappointed, mostly with the attitude of some staff and the misinformation printed in maps and even on the evaluation! When we first arrived we were put in a very small room on the first floor, looking straight our onto a intersection. When I commented that we paid for a...

This hotel should be down graded from a 4 star to a 2 star. There was a damp smell within the room. The Bed was hard & uncomfortable. The Air Con was not cooling the room adequetly. The floor was never cleaned and gathered dust which could be visibly seen but never cleaned by the house keeping. Hair on pillows...

Smell of mould in bathroom. Breakfast was continental and served on the roof top terasse. There was no option of eating inside so...

Came in from Italy for 3 night stay. Had booked this hotel on earlier reviews. Several emails to the hotel prior to arrival went unattended. From airport, ideal to take a cab, which comes to about 35 Turkish Liras. Avoid airport shuttles to hotel, because they are out to fleece passengers. Shuttles are advised for departures, priced at 5 Euros...

I admit, the hotel is very close to the highlights Aya Sofya, Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosque and what have you. But even this is not worth the price (we paid 250€ for 3 nights). Room are small (size of the bed plus half a meter to walk) and run down. Bed is very hard and stiff. Airco doesn't work, but...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
