Without a doubt the highlight of the hotel is its rooftop view, you simply just cant get enough of it. Location is perfect, but the hotel lacks personality. Stayed twice on Hali during our stay in Turkey, the first for 4 nights and the second for only 1 night. The hotel overall is average, and dont offer much more than...

This hotel is in a fantastic location, very close to attractions and the streetcar that one can take to the train that goes to the airport. The view from the terrace is amazing, but as someone has already pointed out, most of the hotels in this area seem to have a similar terrace. The breakfast is good, but it seemed...

The location is what gives this hotel it's popularity. It is just a few minutes away from popular tourist attractions! It is also just a few steps away from the tram line. The breakfast room is lovely with gorgeous views of the Aya Sophia and Blue Mosque. However, the breakfast is pretty bland (bread, jams, hardboiled eggs, fruit...). All the...

I stayed here for 6 nights and paid 70YTL per night, breakfast included (around US$45.00). Room had great views, air conditioning, TV. Only a couple of blocks from H. Sophia, Blue Mosque and tram stop. Breakfast room in the 6th floor with fantastic views of the mosques and Sea of Marmara.

After much perusing on Trip Advisor, the Hali Hotel was the only hotel in Sultanahment, within my price range, that didn't have at least one horror story review. So I contacted them via their website, and agreed a price for my stay at the end of April, with my partner and handed over my credit card details. I arrived somewhat...

We just got back from the Hali Hotel yesterday and really enjoyed it. The location is excellent and the manager printed out our boarding passes for us which was outstanding service. There is a computer in the lobby you can use for internet access which came in handy for us. The first night the guy in the next room talked...

After reading previous positive reviews about the Hali Hotel, I thought I would give it a try since I wanted to try a location away from the intense tourist area behind the Blue Mosque/Hagia Sofia (where I have stayed previously). I emailed the Hali and asked for their best price and was pleased with their offer. I also requested a...

I have stayed at Hali Hotel 4 times simply because you can't beat the location plus it's always good to stay somewhere that you're familiar with. The hotel needs a bit of TLC but the beds and bathrooms are clean; that's the most important thing. Also the rates are very reasonable for a hotel smack bang in the middle of...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
