The Central Palace Hotel is well located close to Taksim Square, has well equipped rooms and offers an excellent breakfast. So it ought to be on top of the rating scale. However, the rating drops due to the ugly decor, strange lighting and noise from the street outside that continues until the small hours. Furthermore, while the staff are efficient...

The hotel has nice large rooms, but is situated in a quite dull part of the city, even though it is not far to Taksim and Beyoglu. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and breakfast was OK. We also had lunch there one day when we had a meeting at a conference room, but the lunch was below average....

Had a wonderful three night stay in Istanbul. Great neighborhood near Taksim Square. Lots of restaurants close by. Wonderful bed and bath. Service was excellent, they couldn't do enough for you, even serving us coffee at 5:00am on the front patio when we couldn't sleep the first night. Wonderful and large buffet breakfast every morning. No bar available but did...

Loud music til 3 in the am! Told us it would end after the weekend, but it did not so they offered to move us to another room for the final night. Beds were hard as a rock. Breakfasts were good, but not a reason to stay there.

The Central Palace is in an excellent location, on a quiet street near Taksim Sq. Lots of inexpensive restaurants within easy walking distance. Markets right out the front door. Funicular from Taksim Sq. takes you to the tram at Katsabas which takes you to most of the major tourist sites either by tram or ferry. The rooms are quite elegant...

My husband and I stayed here for three nights while traveling on a Smithsonian Journey. The room was spotless, linens were lovely, beds really comfortable, and breakfast was amazing. The Jacuzzi tub was a welcome experience following our long flights from Boston. The location with its proximity to Taksim Square and the bustling pedestrian street was great. Staff were extremely...

Me and my cousins stayed at the hotel for a week, the room is spacious and luxurious, the curtains and all details were elegant, the bathroom was very clean with a Jacuzzi, the breakfast variety was excellent. The hotel is only few meters away from Taksim Square and Itsiklal street, Jumhureyit street. That was during 2009

We were a little worried about what we might end up in at this hotel as we booked it the night before arriving and went on price and location. We were very pleasantly surprised, the hotel was lavishly decorated, stylish, clean and very central. The staff were very helpful with any requests and the food at the breakfast buffet was...

We stayed at the hotel from Friday to Sunday night - unfortunately our room was on the first floor and was very noisy due to a bar/restaurant in the street next door. We complained but were told there were no rooms on higher floors available. The hotel itself is lovely and breakfast was very good with a wide choice of...

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
