Excellent central location in the middle of the old town (Sulthanamed) 10 min walk to the Grand Bazar. Very friendly staff, clean room. Excellent cost effectiveness. Next time we will book into Hotel Sappire again.

I booked a triple room with my two children of 8 and 6, and we were completely delighted. All the staff in the hotel were fantastic, really friendly and went above the call of duty to ensure we were happy and comfortable. A senior member of staff even came to collect us from the airport at the last minute, when...

I chose this hotel for our family of four because it was good value and in the middle of the old city. To be honest we didn't expect all that much, but we were so pleasantly surprised. From the warm welcome to the newly-installed swimming pool and sauna. The staff were courteous and helpful, and the location is perfect for...

After reading TRIP ADVISOR reviews we booked this hotel online direct with the hotel. And we were not disappointed! Efficient & friendly booking service - great rates, very helpful front desk, great breakfast, nice clean rooms. Plus a free pick up at the airport made this a perfect visit. It's walking distance to lots of 'must see' spots as well...

Wonderful hotel, what a great value for your money. We booked a triple room. Because many rooms were available in this period, the staff offered us a double and a single room at no extra charge! Both of these rooms had a wonderful décor with a spacious, squeaky clean bathroom. The decorations of the lobby, breakfast room and hallways were...

We have just returned from a week in Istanbul staying at the Hotel Sapphire, which was superbly located within very easy walking distance to the main cultural venues of Haghia Sophia, the Blue Mosque and the Bazaar Quarter. It was also ideally located for the railway station, ferry ports and the Galata bridge to Beyoglu. It is set in a...

This wonderful hotel and the friendly and helpful staff (especially Engin) helped make our stay in Istanbul thoroughly enjoyable. However it could have been much worse; no thanks to EasyJet and their hotel affiliations. Originally we were booked into another hotel, booked via EasyJet, which we were told was central to everything in Istanbul, but was actually miles away as...

Well situated hotel in the old historic part of Sultanhamet on a charming cobbled street restricted to pedestrians. Staff are very courteous and eager to make your stay comfortable. I stayed in a room that has been very recently renovated so everything was new and well appointed. Good breakfast food selection.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
