It is one of the nearest hotels to everything you want to see in Istanbul. Staff was friendly. The view of Bosphorous from the top of hotel is amazing and it is opposite to the last european railway station which itself id very unique.

No problems getting a cab, generally to the front door. Did have to be dropped off about a block away one time due to heavy traffic on the rather narrow street in front of the hotel. Very clean and neat, though somewhat older facility (it is in the Old City) and service was very friendly and accommodating. Not for anyone... More

Pros: big size room, location to sites and nearby restaurants cons: terrible breakfast, zero customer service, outdated furniture . The Spa looks and feel bad and the whole atmosphere was kind of creepy esp the guy behind the counter. I wouldn't recommend this place.

This is a family run hotel. It is very close to the Hagia Sofia and the Blue Mosque and is on the same side of the esturee as all the main attractions of the city. We never needed a taxi to go anywhere. It is in the heart of Istanbul yet it's location is just out of the way -... More

I found this hotel a bit disappointing. Though the first day I had a cab service up to the hotel the next three or four times I have to walk for about 15/20 minutes get to the taxi service and that too very narrow streets like small gullies. One day the tour guide had to accompany me in a train... More

It is a pity I have to rate this hotel as terrible because it is actually a nice hotel in a good location. The staff are unfriendly and almost unpleasant, there was never any greetings, warm welcomes etc. the included buffet breakfast was average. The hotel has lovely hotel terrace on the top floor which has a wonderful view of... More

This hotel is really well located in the old part of Istanbul. You can walk to all the sights in the old city and walk across the bridge to Galata tower neighborhood. Breakfast buffet provides lots of options for families. Would recommend for family travel. Pros: Location, rooms, service, breakfast Con: it claims to have a rooftop bar and a... More

Really nice hotel, very welcoming staff. Buffet breakfast is excellent, room very clean and extremely comfortable beds. Close shops and walking distance to bazaars and local tourists attractions. Transport is all within walking distance also. Highly recommend. Thank you for making my tour group welcome, see you again

Its proximity to the Spice markets and Grand Bazaar was very appealing. The hotel itself was great and the breakfast included was diverse and top shelf. Top of my comments was customer service -- long story but I had messed up some currency issues and Gulsah in reservations went to lengths to resolve for me. Just wonderful and her English... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
